Lomachenko is a major player, a major name, and a generational talent. He is fighting at one division higher than his max, where he is smaller than everyone else and cannot afford a bad night. He has fought world class fighters since his debut, ducking no one. The only people not really wanting the rematch are Lopez fans. I already defended him and said I would not think less of him if he avoided the rematch. It was a one sided win for Lopez. But if you are calling Lomachenko hype, you are obviously anti-Loma and are gleefully excited to have a loss to throw around his reputation. I mean more power to you, but the man is a real fighter in an age there are plenty avoiding everyone in this sport. I think he whined too much over the loss and did not give Lopez enough credit, but otherwise I realize this truth: Boxing as a sport is better off for Lomachenko being in it.
I mean, it was Lomachenko who gave Lopez his shot in the first place. He did not duck this younger, bigger, and motivated fighter. He is the real deal.
