I agree. The whole regular/super champion thing is ridiculous. One champion for each of the sanctioning bodies is already too many.

    We don’t need any more!

Not only do we have a contender for boxing’s hippest cat but I also think he’s going to present Tank with some serious problems.

Tank is unbelievably short. He’s going to learn weigh classes matter.
Thought you were way off until I saw them at the state down. Barrios looks huge compared to Tank.

He’s got good pop and throws nice straight punches.

Tank is moving up will his power carry?

We know he gets tagged. This is might be worth a sneaky bet on Barrios

Upset? He is the damn Champion! (or some sort of Champion I guess)

I hope he fights his ass off and we get a great fight

I may be in the minority but I actually want more belts. The more the merrier. Like in addition to the regular/super champion I'd be down for a semi-regular champion and a mediocre champion. I'd also like the WTF organization added to the WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO.

I think barrios drops him once or twice and gets a stoppage mid to late or wins wide, i have tipped the upset in a few threads this month .

barrios is good and tank has gone up a weight class too many, this could look similar to Broner v maidana.

Bumrios goes life and death with C-tier talent. No threat for tank, easy money.

Remember that boxing sucks and being a champion is quite worthless in many cases, cause you can beat nobody to win the belt. Just like this guy did.

Pretty easy if you've been watching boxing long enough which is a surprise that people still don't know what a cherry pick is.

Back the day maybe it was impossible but with 8 major titles across all the divisions it's pretty damn easy.

Like when Mikey Garcia cherry picked an actual world title from a kickboxing turned boxer in Sergey Lipinets at 140lbs because he was too afraid to unify with Jorge Linares.

Cherry pick. A hand picked opponent used to make a fighter look better than he actually is. Easily accomplished by fighting a big name who is over the hill for fighting a place holder world champion.

All thse guys say they want to fight the best but by not doing so and still claiming you are, it only reinforces that notion.

                      .Another example.

                      Canelo cherry picking Kovalev.

Sure, it was a solid win but a clear cherry pick. Kovalev had shown enormous decline from his krusher days and was not even in the running for the best in the division. If you're not fighting your way to fight the best then I don't don't you deserve consideration for being the best.

If you're a 130lb guy you should want to fight the consensus #1 guy, not possibly the 8th best fighter in another division and the only reason they do it is to be called "multiple world champ".

If it was like the old days and there was only 1 champion per division these guys would have nothing to pretend about. They would have to walk and not talk.
                      You don’t know boxing, kid.

First off, if you wanted to cite Mikey Garcia for “cherry picking” you’d be better off citing Zlaticanin. Lipinets is a good fighter, better and more grit than former World Champ (and kickboxer) Algieri. Did PAC cherry pick Algieri? Lipinets folded elite vet Peterson… Garcia vs Lipinets was a good fight and more difficult than Zlaticanin who was out of his league against Mikey.

Now Kovalev, he beat Ward in the first fight or at least a Draw. Ward even acknowledged the rematch. Ward’s not even a knock out artist and caught Kovalev with a good shot in the 2nd fight. Other than that Kovalev wasn’t even taking strategic dissection from Ward or Eleider. He was just caught with bad mistakes. Who win the second Krusher vs Eleider fight? Kovalev outclassed him. Then the Yarde fight comes and both Warren and Main Events were in favor of making money before the Canelo fight. If Sergey won, he would then get Canelo. Kovalev was the favorite to destroy Yarde. He had some bad rounds but KO’d Yarde with a jab.

Canelo was on standby, and no one would’ve predicted Yarde going more than 6 rounds. So you Canelo haters just exploit ****** ideas that because Krusher had some bad rounds or was staggered just like any other elite fighter in history, that somehow Canelo’s win don’t mean jack.

You guys are just haters. If you actually boxed and sparred guys in real life you’d be impressed with Canelo’s wins against bigger guys. You guys have absolutely have no idea what it’s like to punch things nor understand the impact from power… lol
