I’m predicting a Barrios upset

I mean no disrespect but, how can you cherry-pick a world champion? I just watched the Barrios vs Akhmedov fight the other day, and by no means was that fight a robbery. A robbery is like a guy winning 8 or 9 rounds and the decision going to other guy. Barrios dropped Akhmedov twice and won most of the early rounds. That's 2 10-8 rounds, and 4 or 5 of the mid/early rounds. So, there's no way that fight was robbery. Now, were the scorecards wide, f3ck yeah, but wide scorecards don't equate to a robbery.

But, I do agree, I have Tank winning this won, but he's going to struggle big time, pun intended.

Well people here in NSB were labeling Fielding a cherrypick despite being a world champion.

How can you cherry pick a world champion?

Pretty easy if you've been watching boxing long enough which is a surprise that people still don't know what a cherry pick is.

Back the day maybe it was impossible but with 8 major titles across all the divisions it's pretty damn easy.

Like when Mikey Garcia cherry picked an actual world title from a kickboxing turned boxer in Sergey Lipinets at 140lbs because he was too afraid to unify with Jorge Linares.

Cherry pick. A hand picked opponent used to make a fighter look better than he actually is. Easily accomplished by fighting a big name who is over the hill for fighting a place holder world champion.

All thse guys say they want to fight the best but by not doing so and still claiming you are, it only reinforces that notion.

Canelo cherry picking Kovalev.

Sure, it was a solid win but a clear cherry pick. Kovalev had shown enormous decline from his krusher days and was not even in the running for the best in the division. If you're not fighting your way to fight the best then I don't don't you deserve consideration for being the best.

If you're a 130lb guy you should want to fight the consensus #1 guy, not possibly the 8th best fighter in that division and the only reason they do it is to be called "multiple world champ".

If it was like the old days and there was only 1 champion per division these guys would have nothing to pretend about. They would have to walk and not talk.

I respect your opinion and I see where you are coming from. Canelo definitely picked Kovalev out of all the champs because he had the best shot to beat him. But, when considering that Kovalev was still giving Canelo trouble with his jab, means Kovalev was still somewhat of a live dog. FYI, I dont give Canelo credit for that win, as pre-Ward Kovalev would've wrecked Canelo.

Anyways, when breaking down tape from both of these guys I can clearly see, that Barrios isn't a push over! If you are a natural 130lb and you go up 2 weight divisions, to fight a guy who has a world title and is undefeated, whether you deem that title important or not, is no cherry pick in my book. Now, do I agree that Tank should've stayed at 135 to fight the new fighters, absolutely, but were those same fighters already scheduled to fight other people. also absolutely. I see virtually no one giving Barrios any credit or any chance at all. Once again, I'm really struggling to call this fight a cherry pick, especially if the fight ends up being competitive, which would clearly show that Barrios is on the elite level, thus not making him a cherry pick.

This is Tanks first fight at 140, and he looked horrendous at 135, so I give him props if he beats Barrios, especially in devastating fashion.

Good thing he has reflexes and a sense of distance. It’s not going to matter.

Thats f3cking funny. He lost 8 rounds to a guy who clearly has an in-depth understanding of distance and footwork. I mean did you see the d3mn fight. That guy fought like a slightly less talented Loma. I think Akhmedov gives a lot of guys hell at 140. Also, Akhmedov is a ridiculous volume puncher, in which Davis is not, like at all. Also, Akhmedov is a volume puncher, and clearly has power as well. Tank not being a volume puncher, will give Barrios more time to think in there. And Barrios is a very skilled boxer, not a brawler. You would know this if you took the time to stop writing ridiculous comments and actually go and watch the guy fight, unbiasedly of course.

Also can't stand Ellerbe especially his comments on Josh Taylor etc. just bad for the sport . Above all is i'm a fan of boxing not just one fighter . Hopefully if he does win like I think he will and easily Tank?Ellerbe can grow a pair and fight the actual champions in their divisions. No more Regular titles

I don't think this fight is a cherry pick. But, everyone knows that Josh Taylor and potentially Jose Ramirez wipe the floor with Tank. I'm curious to see what Barrios brings tomorrow.
