I know it's easy to say now when he's a shot fighter, but at the time, when Kovalev seemed unbeatable and smoking dudes left and right, I was 100% sure that he'd get KOed by Stevenson.

The very elite are very elite. But the rest can pick it up late and be just fine.

Compare that to, say, soccer. You don't pick that sport up at 18 and make it to the top rung.

        - -How many folks got evicted after Son of Senior told them to bet all their $$$ on his knocking down Logan before knocking him out?

Oh the shame of the shameless...

Some people just have a natural affinity which allows them to do stuff like that, its not the norm.

Also combat sports in general just have tiny talent pools compared to major ball sports.

Does being a relatively athletic guy all it takes to be successful in the heavier weight classes these days.
Stevenson swerved all the top guys until Gvozdyk though. Maybe athleticism can get you so far but no way a guy that starts so late could make it to the Elite level. Sergio did but he started at 20 years old

I've always doubted he started at 27, that is a lot of amateur fights to have in such a short period.
Maybe he did, maybe his memory is off, maybe a little white lie to try and inspire older people to say its not too late to give up on your dreams type of thing.
But no I don't think he exposed anything he is a natural fighter, well balanced who had some pretty impressive natural reflexes, speed, explosiveness, disgusting power & real spite. Every trainer dreams of a guy like that walking into the gym especially one like Manny Steward.

He fought Badou Jack just the fight before.
Also starched Bellew & decapitated Dawson in his move upto LHW.

Paul Williams was another guy. Power and athleticism can't get you far in the sport.

What do you think a 40 year old atg at cruiserweight would do to Logan Paul?
