Athletically speaking, there are freaks of nature out there that never put on a pair of gloves.
NATURAL speed and athleticism definitely is a huge advantage. Many boxers ARENT really very special. Most are just very TUFF and durable.
All that said, VERY FEW MEN can handle being hit REPEATEDLY. It’s the nature of the beast. Look at Paul being hit my a SMALL man. His body couldn’t handle it. He instinctively went to wrestling to STOP Mayweather
Most ON HERE think they can handle the hits. It isn’t fun nor glamorous.
So, NO not just any athletic person can do this.

Foreman medal'd at the olympics in under 2 years. And gold medal on top of that. But wilder and foreman both had top ATG natural power.

yeah his demeanor in the first round when mayweather wasnt throwing at all and he was fresh and in rounds 3-8 were completely different. he was exhausted and held on to survive. First round he was trying to win by KO and when exhaustion and those body shots kicked in he was happy to just survive.

Stevenson's first amateur national champuonship was in Jan 2003 vs Jean Pascal. He won a world title in June 2013. So at the very minimum that's 10 and a half years of dedicated boxing training before winning the belt

A cruiserweight with 3 years of boxing experience will not automatically get KO’ed by a 155lb, 44 year old retired boxer who was only considered as a good puncher at 130lbs. Regardless of how great that boxer was. And Floyd’s greatness comes from his boxing ability, not punching power. Floyd was not considered as a big puncher from 147+. Not even close.

Floyd was a respectable puncher at 135-140.

At 147, his KO% was 25% (12 wins, 3KO’s). For reference, Malignaggi’s power is made fun of so much. The guy had 8 wins and 2KO’s at 147, same 25% rate as Mayweather. Who supposedly was supposed to KO a Cruiserweight with his massive power.

At 154+, vs actual boxers, Mayweather’s KO% was 0%. But again, he was supposed KO a Cruiserweight with 3 years of boxing experience.

Boxing fans love exaggerating what boxers can really do. Going in, I felt it was impossible for Floyd to get the KO over someone that big who had some boxing experience already. After the fight, I find it impossible to think boxing fans are being serious about saying Mayweather really should have gotten the KO. I mean common sense should prevail I would think.

Exactly, typical of most men. We’re brave and ****y as long as we’re NOT TIRED. Real boxers don’t have that problem. They will let u hit them ( blocking of course), till they notice your tired AND THEN they will humiliate U. They don’t get tired like most men, even when their out of shape. It’s their natural gift.

yeah but he could have been battered with small shots and he wasn't--jabs, etc,--and logan actually laned on floyd which SHOULD have been impossible
