Hearn convinced Ortiz to step aside for Joshua-Klitschko with the promise that Ortiz would get the winner. He was then bypassed by Hearn for a Klitschko rematch, Klitschko retired, then a Pulev IBF mandatory, Pulev pulled out, then Takam.

Ortiz left Matchroom, agreed to fight Wilder, got caught with high blood pressure medication, WBC initially banned him, WBA removed him as mandatory, WBC reinstated him after their investigation, WBA did not, made Povetkin mandatory, Ortiz fought Wilder in a classic, Joshua fought Povetkin, THEN Joshua offered Ortiz a fight after Miller tested positive. Ortiz refused because he was getting a bigger guarantee to fight Wilder in a rematch. Ortiz later admitted it was a mistake, and Andy Ruiz ultimately got the fight.
No, it's the second time he's put himself forward as a substitute opponent for a fight with AJ, and the first time, he turned the fight down when he was offered it, just like I said.

Usyk is less dangerous than Ortiz.

Ortiz has also lost already, so Joshua will get more credit for beating Usyk.

Dropping the belt to fight Ortiz makes zero sense and won’t happen.

The only fight he’ll drop the WBO belt to make is a rematch with Dillian Whyte.

Usyk's only fought two low-level opponents professionally at HW which isn't much of a "career" as such at HW. What he can do is yet to be seen. From the little that we saw (2 fights), he did not look impressive at all. Usyk's a great CW fighter but looked average at best at the HW division.

Stop comparing his CW resume because he ain't fight a small CW. He is fighting a big, strong, elite HW champ.
You said it was a huge mismatch, now you're saying Joshua is "expected to win." Not sure what it is if it's not backtracking.

That would be a good fight, but worth losing a unification payday with the Fury/Wilder 3 winner over? Nah. I am not buying that. Usyk will get his shot.

Because he has only looked "okay" in his 2 HW fights. But THIS is the opportunity he left a unified CW division for. I agree a fight with AJ is the kitchen sink bout: Usyk will throw everything into it and will be the best version of a HW he can be. Will it be enough? It is worth watching.

As for Ortiz, I am not as down on him as most. I think he is still more than good enough to be relevant. I think he still can get himself in a title conversation. And he is fighting for the right reasons, to ensure the finances are there to help his daughter fight off a rare medical condition that will just not solve itself. But he needs more to his resume besides nice efforts against Wilder. He has to fight Ruiz, Parker, Joyce, Hunter or Whyte. Any of those fights put him on the radar with wins and if he does beat 2 of them he will absolutely get a title shot. Tall order for a man in his 40's, but a mismanaged career comes with consequences.

What is an 80-20 winning odds if not a mismatch? What's putting a cruiserweight with only 2 HW fights with a big, strong, reigning HW champion if not a mismatch?

NOW he wants to say something about fighting AJ? Because as I recall, he went radio silent when he was offered more money than he ever fought for, to fight AJ. This dude, and Michael Hunter should both shut up for good

He's just sending a message to Usyk. Usyk was demanding a big pay hike and Eddie is just letting him know his place.

Usyk would be a favorite over Ruiz. Ruiz KTFO Joshua. Usyk is a very losable flight for Joshua. Hearn will do all he can to avoid it
