It's about the same as giving JCC Jr credit for fighting around 175..

Barrios just fought some guy with 7 fights. what a joke

want to see tank fight lopez, loma, garcia, haney or stevenson

you know somebody with a name already, not a low rate 140 pounder

He was a former amateur standout & was being compared to Loma due to the angles he uses & similarities in style.

He definitely deserves a fair amount of credit.
Barrios is big, undefeated, durable and hits hard.

I think its a very interesting fight we still don't know a great deal about Tank & how he is late in fights despite going 11 with Gamboa but that was all one way traffic & at a lower weight than this vs a smaller opponent.
Barrios is most likely big, durable and savvy enough to at least ask some questions late.

Tank has that 'he isn't taking this fight unless it's a lock' type of thing going on. Same with quite a few other guys, to be fair. But no, I don't get overly excited for fights with those guys. I like Tank's talent but he, like many others, is being handled with kid gloves. Wake me up when Tank, Garcia, Loma, Teo, and Haney start fighting each other every time out. Or when those guys fight the top guys at 140.

Put another way, we watch guys and we want to see who is the best. We don't really care who is top 10 in any division. Let's see who the best is. If Tank proves he is top 10 at 140 or something, I mean it's still like 'OK, let's have the top guys fight each other'

Boxing is such a disgrace sometimes. Think of all the top guys right now who AREN'T fighting each other across all divisions lol. I'm a boxing guy at heart but UFC kills us in this regard. It sucks.

                Tank is Broner 2.0.

He will probably end as a punching bag for top 140 guys, because he is too fat to stay at 130 -135.

Yes, unlike Garcia and Teofimo he is actually taking on challenging fights

I don't even think Tank is that involved with his fights to know if its a lock or not. I don't think he cares about it enough as long as the money is coming in. I don't think he has any idea where he's going career-wise. I think Floyd & Ellerbe just handle everything & Tank is like "ok". I've heard folks claim Tank wanted to go to 140, but idk that I buy that either. I wouldn't be shocked if he wasn't aware there was a 140lb division til this next fight got made. He seems that oblivious to all things professional boxing to me. For sure he couldn't name the weight limits for at least 10 of the 17 weight divisions in pro boxing without getting in lotsa wrong guesses.

Barrios isn't a real world champion.

It's like Canelo fighting Rocky Fielding.
