Meh, he was struggling to make weight at 130 and 135. Fatty had little choice but to move up without killing himself.Comment

I just want to know when he’s going to fight a top fighter around 135, or even 140, seeing as he’s there now. He seems to just be happy jumping around weights picking up WBA regular titles against this level of fighter.
he isn’t a kid anymore, he’s coming up his late 20’s soon.
I really rate him as a fighter but there doesn’t seem to be a willingness to fight the best. Remember when Floyd was talking about him fighting Loma? Tank went on a rant on Twitter saying “they’re trying to get me beat”. Lopez on the other hand went in with Loma when he was about 21 and only had 15 fights.

Nothing changes with Barrios if its Tank vs Barrios, Loma vs Barrios or Teo vs Barrios. Its the same Barrios. Its the same lowest ranked title holder at 140. Its the same guy who's not even in the top ten at 140 by some highly respected indie rankings. So nah Loma, Tank & Teo would all get the same credit for picking the low hanging fruit. Its still an accomplishment to win a belt in a whole new division for you, but its a low hanging fruit accomplishment.Comment

I had this same debate when Canelo fought at 175 while holding a belt at 168. It's one weight division...
And he won a belt there & he's been considered top guy by most every pundit/indie ranking (or he was before he went back down to 130 since most won't rank a guy in 2 divisions).
If he beats Barrios at 140 & is consider a top ten guy + a title holder there, but he goes back down to defend his 130 belt is he jumping 3 divisions if he then goes up to fight a top 147lber?
Shane Mosley jumped two divisions back in the day (135 to 147). Tank is not jumping two divisions (130 to 140 while owning a belt at 135).Comment

And sh^t us boxing fans are always trying to get high level fighters beaten or reaching their maximum ability you could argue. Folks ALWAYS wanna see bigger & better once you meet one goal. Hell pretty much a standard question in every post-fight interview for the winning fighter is who is next. It is what it is. And the thing with boxing is there is never much of a final goal like in other sports. I mean if you win the World Series in baseball or Super Bowl in football you are reaching the final level of the sport. All you can do from there is try to win it again. In boxing there are so many bs goals its hard to see any goal that suggests you finally won it all. There is always another belt. There is always another division. There is always a guy waiting to beat you. The season is neverending & there is never a final boss you can beat where you win the game.Comment
