I agree the arbitration decision seems arbitrary. My understanding is that there are fewer instances in which binding arbitration can be appealed than with a regular court decision, but nonetheless there is definitely an appelate system for arbitration. Not saying it will apply in this instance, just that it might.

In America, contracts mean something. We are not some 3rd world Gypsy country like Britain.

Even if Fury appeals an injunction will be put in place, and fury would then be stripped of all his titles if he fights someone else.

        fury vs Wilder next

Agreed. In the end, when does common sense prevail, and a guy sits down, looks at the plusses and minuses, and decides its easier to get in the ring and fight, especially after already being ruled against?

Does the WBC stand by Fury and risk being sued themselves for not abiding by an arbitrators decision?

Say Fury makes 60 million vs AJ...how much is left, after he pays Arum, Warren, his team, and then TAXES? Is it worth it to risk his remaining purse paying attorneys, and then punitive damages to Wilder?

I'm not a lawyer, I'm just going by simple math, and it looks like the numbers are starting to move the wrong way. At some point Fury needs to man up and get his ass in the ring. I understand he's still having flashbacks fron the first fight...

ETA: and Eddie Hearn is the biggest idiot on the planet. He's cost AJ and himself a lot of money. Who, on God's earth tries to put together a fight against somebody in court for owing another guy a fight?

In America there is a Federal law put in place to protect boxers from coercive contracts (as part of what is known as the Muhammad Ali Boxing Reform Act) that stipulates expressly that any contract provision shall be considered a restraint on trade and unenforceable if it is for a period of greater than 12 months.

Technically (i.e. as written in the contract) the provision was not for a period of greater than 12 months, but this judge's decision has in effect made the provision for a period greater than 12 months -- they signed the contract in December 2019; they fought in February 2020; here we are in May 2021 with Fury's trade being restrained by a provision signed at least 16 months ago. From this perspective, I can see why Arum thinks the ruling is preprosterous.

Anyway, if I was Arum/Warren/Fury, I would offer Wilder a fight in Manchester in early July for a million bucks. Take it or leave it.

It's clear at this point some of you will believe what you want, and follow Eddie Hearn to the death.

The fight with AJ ain't happening. Fury has been ordered to fight Wilder next. Period.

They will try to bribe Wilder with a guarantee of the winner, an offer he will not take. Top Rank and Fury will not proceed with a fight vs AJ, with a lawsuit hanging over their heads. It makes no sense monetarily at this point..

He will be stripped of his title, and sued for tens of millions..

This has been tried and done before. In the end, the guy proceeded with the fight he was obligated for.
Fury has been told to fight Wilder by sept OR he will be in “breach of contract”...which will result in a monetary judgment for Wilder in the future. Expect Fury to fight AJ anyway ...dont think he cares or is going to b controlled by an arbitrators ruling.

I don't particularly like any of the three HWs involved (I typically root against all of them whomever they are fighting), but I do find it both humorous and sad that fans care more about an arbitration ruling than a potential unified HW champion. That's not to say I like the sycophants in the other camps any better; if the shoe was on the other foot they would probably be doing the same.
