Out of fighting shape Mayweather in clothes and jacket looks tiny compared to the Charlo's. Should have gone to 160 though.

Lol you didn't even address my point on contention. All you did was throw up a false claim. Those consecutive title defenses do not count when one of those was a secondary title.....the same way I do not count any of Tank's cherry picking secondary belts.

Nope. He was regular WBA when there was a super champ. Super champ is highest ranking belt by the WBA. So he wasn't really the WBA champ.

And anyway, you’re criticizing GGG for not moving up in weight. Which means he does receive criticism for not moving up in weight.

He should have drained to a lower weight and basically cheat the purpose of weight divisions like everyone else? Instead of getting credit for fighting at his natural weight against bigger guys, he gets criticised........ This is how ridiculous some of you clowns are, you don't make sense.

Well think about it. The divisions are for fighters at that weight. Not for fighters to drain and put on 10+ lbs by fight time. Day of the fight way ins prevented this, but they changed the rules and the bigger guys started draining to gain an advantage. It's so bad now that you're fighting out of your division if you don't.

A lot of issues brought up here:

1) Agree about Grant... Lewis was always game to fight the best and Grant, at the time was considered a much stronger opponent than Ruiz. hard to imagine but many were picking Grant to knock Lewis out.

2) Floyd started to have trouble at 154... guys like Maidana hit hard and it was tougher for Floyd to keep them at bay. Floyd's best weight was 135. So there was no way he was going to have an easy time fighting up to 160...

Now lets talk about Jones and Floyd... First off Jones was cherry picking because of his father. Fathers can be toxic to fighters,.. Hatton, who was turned into a humper in order to fight safety first, to remain unbeaten, did so when his dad became involved. Jones dad was all about that cherry pie. When Jones absconded from his dad he fought the best for a while, Toney, Hopkins, McCallum, etc... Later Jones went back to not taking risks but did manage to fight some of the best in his division.

Mayweather never beat an ATG in his prime. He got Nelo young, and fought Pac late. Him and Jones have a similar attitude but people often forget that Roy did take on some fellow fighters that were ATG status, while they were still in their prime (McCallum was a little past it). That, to me is a major distinction.

Jones and Mayweather have similar psychological traits. I would not say they cherry picked, but both fighters knew their value and would not engage a true adversary simply for the challenge. For Jones this had disasterious consequences. He got Tarver so pissed that when he started feinting to throw his crazy fast &hard hook, Tarver was like "fck it, I don't give a fck and am chasing your @33 down!" Everybody prior to that fight were so scared of the speed and explosivness of that attack that when Roy threw a feint, they backed off. people say Jones lost a step after climbing up in weight... I don't buy it. To me Tarver wrote the blue print and tough, good fighters read it: Glen Johnson essentially beat roy the same way, he did not back off on the feint and walked Roy down. When Roy went down that fight he was exhausted from trying to avoid Johnson.

But lets not pretend here lol. Roy thought he would feast on on guys like Tarver... But when people cite the people he "ducked" none of them could have challenged him. What got him was trying to carry power up, not fighting guys at 168, and below. Guys learned they could walk him down.

With Floyd IMO its really simple, he should have fought Pac when they were both still near, or in prime. Floyd was never the fighter he was at 135... he sc****d by DeLa Hoya, and got shook by Maidanna. I don't even think he really beat Pacman, as that fight was a toss up, neither man did enough to show greatness over the other.
