But you can't seriously think Hopkins is afraid to fight this man when we all know Hopkins' history ; Ever since he turned 40 he's only gotten off his ass for giant amounts of cash, a title opportunity, or a really significant name to add to his legacy.
And rightfully so ; the man is pushing 45 years old.
Right now Roy offers nothing.
Period.
If he gets that CW strap ; then we can start talking about all this.
Until then ; Roy offers nothing and Bernard wants Dawson.
fastest 40 year old boxer of all time? i fink so son

And like Chups said earlier ; I seem to recall a moment in time when Roy was the more accomplished superstar who couldn't cast his ego aside to do a 50/50 split with a deserving Hopkins after he won the Middleweight tourney and squashed Jones' dream of fighting a prime Tito.....
.....Many years later it's Hopkins who is demanding 60/40, and Roy fans can't take it.

This just makes his accomplishments looks better, since he could be weight drained for 16 whole years and still kick ass.
kick the ass of fighters who were 3 divisions smaller...lol...where's the credibility in that?
quote from your boy in ring mag:
"If they knew what I had to go through all those years to stay at middleweight and rack up those 20 defenses, I'd get a blue ribbon for that. If they knew how disciplined I had to be through all those years, at 6'1" with a 36-inch waist, built like a wide receiver, the question should have been: How in the hell has Bernard been able to stay at 160?"
those are words from your boy...obviously he isn't afraid to speak the truth, so why fight it? lol
now please before you offer up some lame excuse, just admit that the man entered boxing as a lightheavy and starved himself down to middle to pick on a weak 160 lb. division before you slobber over overrated wins on trinidad, oscar, winky wright, and kelly pavlik...everybody he fought that was his size with equal talent he lost to, and his best and most legit win so far was tarver ...case closed

"And now that he sees I'm close to being back to myself, he definitely don't want to see me now,"
AHHAHA, Roy Jones Jr. is delusional. He thinks he's back to being like the pre-Tarver Roy, LMAO. Roy fans becareful this is not a retirement tour, the old man will try to fight top guys again.
Beating lacy and cheika don't show me, old Roy is back. He's just as good as he was against Trinidad and Calzaghe.

Not the only man to unify the Middleweight division since Hagler.
Not the man who broke Monzon's title defense record the night of the Trinidad fight.
Not that prime Hopkins.
The Hopkins that fought Roy the 1st time, and the Hopkins that was supposed to fight Roy back in late '01 or early '02 are two totally different animals.
Hopkins wanted a 50/50 split and Roy wouldn't give it to him because he still didn't deem him worthy. Despite the fact that Hopkins achieved so much in 2001.
Instead Roy opted to fight Glen Kelly and Clinton Woods.
Now the shoe is on the other foot ; it's Hopkins who holds all the cards, has the better record, more high profile wins, and is ontop of his game again.
So let me be the first to say ; "60/40 Hopkins kick 'yo ass. 60/40 Roy get his ass tore up."
