Roy is so shot that even Froch KOs him. Beleive me, if Roy is unlucky enough to get a fight with Nard, he gets KOed round 5...
permanently.

Answer me this ; was Glen Kelly a better opponet than Bernard Hopkins?
Because that's who Roy blew Bernard off to fight.
I ain't talking about in retrospect, either. I mean at the time, in 2002, after Roy beat Gonzalez in '01, and Bernard destroyed Tito 2 months later.
Was a win over Kelly more significant that a win over Hopkins?

LMAO, like others have mentioned if you do this for hopkins then you must apply it to every other fighter in the sport who gains weight between fights (if cotto walks around at 170, does that make him a natural super middleweight, etc.?). Hopkins is even better than all them because he doesn't gain a lot of weight between fights, he's ALWAYS in shape which is exactly why he's still fighting at 45 and elite.
btw for the comprehesively challenged, we are NOT talking about gaining weight between fights....
cotto didn't enter boxing as a supermiddleweight and scale down to beat up on welters...neither did fmj, rjj, oscar, pac...they all started at one division and moved up to fight guys their size and bigger consistently...hell pac is fighting guys waaay bigger than him....nobody but nard scaled down to fight smaller men and still hasn't left the little guys alone...thats why he's overrated imo...
hopkins lost his first fight as a lightheavy, then took a year off to scale down to 168, then to 160...name some non-heavy atg or p4p fighters who have done this? hagler? srl? srr? duran? hearns?
thats why this cat is always 15X stronger than all of those middles, jr. welters, and welters he's been feasting on all these years to overrated accolades....yeah he can box, but when trinidad and oscar tried to go inside on him, he threw them around like rag dolls...
yeah visually in that picture you got me there, hopkins and pavlik looked like they matched up evenly, but watching the fight it was obvious pavlik couldn't do anything with hopkins because he was nowhere near as strong as him...talentwise not even in the same league...
history has proven time and again whether you hopkins huggers want to admit it or not, every fight where he was fighting someone as strong and equally talented (jones, calzaghe, taylor 2X), he lost more often than not...how he remains "elite" despite losing to the true top fighters is anyone's guess...always some big excuse when hopkins loses...corrupt judges, hbo, the man....lolLast edited by djtmal; 08-31-2009, 05:40 PM.

same can be said for nard continuing to feast on eastman, robert allen 15, a joppy that tito already crushed, and hopkins/morrade hakkar now that was a barnburner...is a win over them bigger than getting revenge on jones? nard should have put his ego in check, took the 40% and fought to win....hell what was the problem with jumping up to 175 and knocking off the top contender and forcing a fight with jones, like tarver did?...thats why i say nard really didn't want that fight...lolLast edited by djtmal; 08-31-2009, 05:47 PM.

money aside, all this split **** this and that, payday, whatever.............
bottom line, at this point in both of thier careers, hopkins more than likely will permanently cripple roy jones jr. if you think for one second hopkins would let jones do what he did in against lacy to himself (hopkins), you're out of your mind, when has anyone been able to tee off on hopkins, not even calzaghe. and right now in his career, hopkins has a little more sniper in his approach, and he would maul jones once he was able to close the distance and work out of the clinch............
hopkins stops jones in the 9th round, knocking him stiff like johnson did..............
don't fool yourself, i know it's sad seeing a hero go out but if jones isnt careful and doesn't select his opponents carefully, he's going out like hatton in his last fight..........

lmao, let me guess - it was your grandma hopkins robbed all those years ago wasn't it??? Because that's the only way I can explain your hate for the man.
Hopkins turned pro in 1988. Fresh out of prison with bad management and improper training he turned pro. He lost a four rounder and took TWO years to train and to learn the game and to get fit.
Again, how in the hell can you fault a man for being in great physical shape? Like it was already mentioned, you honestly believe hopkins was weight drained and starving for 16 years? How can someone unify all the belts and have 20 title defenses in a 16 year period if they are starving themselves? Its not physically possible.
And you dumbass hopkins didn't use POWER to beat Pavlik he used his boxing skills. Jermain Taylor and Miranda hit Pavlik harder than hopkins did, which is why Pavlik never went down against Hopkins. If hopkins was so much stronger than him like you claim he would have got KTFO out as there is no way he would be able to survive the full 12 rounds. You lack logical thinking skills because your hate for bhop fuucks up your head. :smh:

The risk: Not too high being that Roy's legs are gone although the handspeed and skills are there
The reward: Beating a old washed up Jones who hasn't beaten any elite fighters in years...
The reward does nothing for Bernard...I don't wanna see this fight...
