Deontay Wilder - Anyone remember him talking about beating Tyson etc in their prime?

Tyson has always been humble when talking about fighters especially ATG's.

Since beating Formella, Conor Benn has come off a little deluded to me. All this talk about being a top ww while seemingly wanting no parts of Avenesyan, telling everyone he's ready to fight the top guys and then calling out Khan and Brook while emphasizing he wants Khan over everyone. Calling out super shot fighters isn't the the big time as he was insinuating following his win over Vargas.

He's definitely improved a lot since the days of getting gift decisions against journeymen but I think some of that has to do with clever matchmaking, calling out shot fighters who had big names years ago is evidence of this.

This isn't the biggest ego-to-talent ratio in history but rather a recent observation.

          Every athlete has an ego

It's when they stray off into delusion and don't accept faults that things fall apart for them.

You see boxers with almost personality disorders where there confidence is far beyond their ability, which is still a good trait for a boxer & you'd think would give an advantage but evidently that doesn't hold quite true.. Funnily enough though all of the greats despite having confidence were still grounded in reality.

Not sure, but it's a safe bet that it's probably a fighter from the U.K.

              There’s honestly so many.

Devin Haney. Always talking and hasn’t beat anybody.

AB. About billions still makes me laugh.

Eubank Jr is a great shout too as someone else mentioned.

Conor Benn. Thinks he’s a PPV fighter yet hasn’t won any title worth a damn.

Dillian Whyte would probably take the one spot for me though. The most delusional c*** in the sport.

He’s right up there for me too in terms of delusion. He hasn’t even fought for an area title. All they’ve done is fed him overmatched imports and he’s starting to believe the hype.

Reminds me of Yarde’s career path.

That's a good comparison, I can definitely see the similarities.

Been thinking it for a while, it’s not just coincidence Benn/Yarde avoided domestic competition. I think we all saw why when Yarde lost to Arthur.

Matchroom/Benn are looking for that winnable, Kovalev type cash in fight were a loss wouldn’t hurt their credibility. That’s why they’re calling Khan out.
