If they don't believe that the Wilder issue will stop the fight then they would be foolish to go back and give Wilder the third fight when there is so much more money to be made in a unification fight with Joshua.
They're also definitely not acting like a guilty party... that's only your view with your very rose tinted glasses. Most objective people can see that Wilder has slung so much **** at Fury that it's perfectly reasonable for Fury to go "you know what, **** you" and walk away from fighting Wilder. You can argue that what better way to settle things than in the ring but that's equally not true... Fury has already completely decimated Wilder in the ring and as such relegating him to sitting on the sidelines looking in whilst the big fights happen without Wilder would be far, far more damaging to Wilder and his ego than simply knocking Wilder out again.
