Oh, man this Diamond belt is a great idea! It makes the sport seem so much more interesting- gives boxing more glitz and attitude. Now our sport can be a little more like the WWE or a Street Fighter game.

I hope they introduce something like rings, chains, new belts - all sorts of ***elry. It'll make the sport seem so much more legit to the casual fan.

This COTTO VS PACQUIAO doesn't seem to be agree by both fighters. I'm a diehard PACQUIAO fan, but fair is fair, COTTO is the champ, he should be able to come in at 147lbs. With that said, at this point they have to agree to disagree, cause I really want to see this fight and so does alot of people.
      Agreed.
But the fact is that they had an initial agreement (not signed contract) without the title being on the line or even discussed, it was until th ****** President Varcarcel started to want to cash in and stirred the whole thing.

I'm still wondering if they even have a contract signed and what those it say.

I mean Cotto has been very clear on this issue and they already have set up a promotional tour and the dates on which they will start to sell tickets and nothing has been said if the contract has been officially signed.

Everybody wants to make as much money as possible in boxing and this is one way that the sanctioning bodys have found to milk their share .These belts offer nothing new for the fans other than larger sanctioning fees that promoters will find a way to pass on to the consumer ,me the FAN !

Now Michael Buffer can say "For the welterweight championship of the world." Other than that it doesn't do much for me. I just want to see a great fight.

Pernell was the #1 P4P in that era so JCC had a lot to overcome. End result was a very contraversial draw
The fight was fought at a catchweight of 145 and Whitaker came in @ 145.

Or is it just cause its cotto that this is a travesty???
That all sounds good..I guess you feel Im going to say things are different now or defend one or two....BUT NO!
However many wrongs you want to put together...It will never make a right.
That line reminded me alot of ChicanaPMs...If I ever say anything about Margarito , his comeback is usually "How about Trinidad and Mosley or Toney"...lol
My opinion does not change based on the individual boxer.

With that said, I would have like to see this fight happens at 147lbs, so that the doubters, haters, and Cotto nuthuggers won't have an excuse if PACQUIAO wins.
Listen, we all know, even if you want to make believe you dont know. Cotto wanted this fight at 147 like every other challenger for that belt in history.
The statement I made had nothing to do with money it had all to do with Pac trying to make history by having the rules bent to benefit him in making history.
Why didn't he just make history at 147?:smileysex

Cotto can make decent paydays regardless of who he fights because of all those Boricuas that come out and support him. He shouldn't have to put up the belt if Pacquiao doesn't want to fight him at 147. But I don't understand why Cotto just doesn't go in another direction. He totally played himself by talking about how bad Arum treated him and then turning right back around and signing a deal with him. A stipulation of that deal is a fight with Pacquiao. So if he backs out of this fight, he won't be Arum's slave then. Right?
