Whitaker came at the limit and JCC was around 142 lbs which was his best fighting weight. There was no catch weight issues and JCC went for it like a warrior does for boxing history. Pernell was the #1 P4P in that era so JCC had a lot to overcome. End result was a very contraversial draw
Pacquiao-Cotto: WBO Title, WBC Diamond Belt at Stake

Unbelievable. When Pacquiao fights PBF it will be called the WBC PLATINUM TITANIUM CARBON FIBRE TEFLON Belt.
Effing Ridiculous. The only one they should be fighting for is the WBO belt at 147. But I don't blame Cotto for taking this fight despite all the ****** concessions. If he beats Manny, this will catapult him into superstardom.
But please, enough already.
This should be a fight happening at 147 for the WBO title. Screw the WBC Diamond belt.Comment

How do you know that the champion had no say, Cotto could have stand firm and threaten to back out of this fight, but he knows that this is the most money that he will ever make.We don't even know what the contract states and if both parties have signed it. With that said, I would have like to see this fight happens at 147lbs, so that the doubters, haters, and Cotto nuthuggers won't have an excuse if PACQUIAO wins.Honestly I dont care about the WBC Diamond or the WBO.
Im more interested in a good fight by two good fighters.
As for Pac making history or a chance to make history...I dont like the fact that challenger (Pac) regulated the weight of a fight while the Champion had no say.
That to me, is not how history is made, he had the rules bent to what he felt could benefit him to make history.

Pacquiao is on some real ***** **** with this fake belt he is trying to impose on everybody. Arum is such a scum bag, and if he would project a better image and call out Suliman on this and not play his games then we wouldn't have to put up with this ****. I'm done with Pacquiao seriously. I was never a fanatic. But he has lost my support and I'm not rooting for him anymore. And I was never a fan of Cotto either. So this is a fight that I'm not really interested in.Comment

Anyone that has punching power, if he connects flush on the chin can knock out another fighter within 10-15lbs between them. Power is determined by the sized of the fist and the size of the legs. Pacquiao might be shorter, but he's got bigger fist than DLH and for sure bigger legs. With that said, COTTO is still the naturally bigger guy, but I don't doubt that PACQUIAO has the power to knock out COTTO. People fail to realize that DLH wasn't hit flush on the chin against PACQUIAO, plus DLH's chin is better than what most people think. DLH has never been KNOCKOUT. If anyone has a weak body its DLH, Hopkins prove it with an accurate liver punch. If you watch the PACQUIAO/ DLH, everytime PACQUIAO hits DLH in the body, it affects him by his face expression, its too bad that PACQUIAO was head hunting that night against DLH. With that said, a fighter with punching power and delivers it with no fear can knock out another fighter within 10lbs difference. Come fight night COTTO will weight around 158-160 and PACQUIAO will be 148-150. If PACQUIAO catches him flush in chin, mark my words COTTO will go down. It will be difficult, but not impossible.

As for what was said yesterday by Cotto himself, he is standing firm on the belt issue and is still opting to turn in his belt if mandated to put the title on the line at 145 max.How do you know that the champion had no say, Cotto could have stand firm and threaten to back out of this fight, but he knows that this is the most money that he will ever make.We don't even know what the contract states and if both parties have signed it. Dude you really are ignorant. Pacquiao didn't invent this belt, if you want to blame someone blame Suluiman and WBO. Your making a big deal over two lbs, the difference here is that COTTO's last fight he made 146lbs, so 145lbs is not as far fetch as you think. Besides COTTO learned and will not be dumb enough and be machismo like DLH and rehydrate properly. DLH's ego showed his ******ity, instead of giving PACQUIAO the proper respect. DLH thought that he can compete with PACQUIAO even if he stay within 147lbs instead of rehydrating to 155-160lbs. As I have said before I think that this fight should happen at 147lbs, but even though now its going to be at a catchweight of 145lbs, it will still be fair cause COTTO will rehydrate properly.Pacquiao is on some real ***** **** with this fake belt he is trying to impose on everybody. I don't blame him for doing that. He's the champion, he should be able to call the shots on the weight if their fighting for his belt. Now a friend in here showed me of title fights that was at catchweight. I believe HOPKINS VS DLH, JCC SR. VS WHITAKER, just to name a few, but those fight was agreed upon by both fighters. This COTTO VS PACQUIAO doesn't seem to be agree by both fighters. I'm a diehard PACQUIAO fan, but fair is fair, COTTO is the champ, he should be able to come in at 147lbs. With that said, at this point they have to agree to disagree, cause I really want to see this fight and so does alot of people.

I know the size difference isn't as great between Kelly Pavlik and Paul Williams as it is with Cotto and Pac. But you don't see Williams telling Pavlik, "I'll fight you, but you have to come down to 157." And Pacquiao is a part of the problem with this belt. I'm not ******. If he wasn't, then he would let it be known that he wants a legit title and not some watered down one. As worthless as Cotto's WBO belt is that he won from Michael Jennings in a vacant fashion, it still holds more weight than the joke of a trinket that Suliman is inventing.Dude you really are ignorant.
