As per Cotto's own words on Friday, not a legal advisor or nothing like this thread's source. He said that the belt issue was on his legal teams side and if that would fail he will have no problem turning in the belt. To my best knowledge that's were it's at right now.

Please note that the source is Michael Koncz not Cotto. There can be another thread tomorrow from Cotto's corner saying that the title will not be on the line.

I will stick to what I heard from the Boxer (Cotto) himself, who by the way is the current title holder of the belt and will be the only one that can determine if the belt will or will not be on the line for this fight. Because if the WBO mandates the title to be on the line and Cotto turns it in, Guess what, there will be no WBO title.

This is just another thread that has non official information. But that's good, it will only help hype more the fight with all the fans discussing all these prefight issues.

Ok, will wait tomorrow if Cotto will release a statement in regards to the WBO WW belt.

        That's funny!!!

Yeah, we will be hearing from a lot of different sources saying different things but the fact is that this fight will not need any of these greedy sanctioning bodies to be a great show.

Ronnie must be on drugs, Joshua was the IBF welterweight champion before vacating, he didn't "move up" to fight Cotto.

cotto can turn in the belt and it will still be on the line. anyway pac can't hurt him. there's no way pac hits harder than clottey or margacheato with or without the concrete wraps. cotto wins this fight in 7.

No. If Cotto turns in the belt a WBO vacated title will only be won in a bout between the 2 best classified contenders. This is as per Section 20 "PROCEDURE WHEN A TITLE IS DECLARED VACANT". At this moment as per the WBO WW rankins Pacquiao is # 1 contender and Clottey is #2.

That's of course if the ****** WBO President doesn't chnage this regulation also.

As for Pac making history or a chance to make history...I dont like the fact that challenger (Pac) regulated the weight of a fight while the Champion had no say.
That to me, is not how history is made, he had the rules bent to what he felt could benefit him to make history.
So what do u think about srl winning the lt hw belt at a catchweight?

What about jcc winning a belt @ WW by beating whitaker?

Or is it just cause its cotto that this is a travesty???

JCC NEVER won a belt from Whitaker at any weight. Are you refering to the 'GIFT' draw JCC received against Whitaker?
