Even if it is lineal/Ring titles, when a fighter wins it, they announce it as "new or still champion of the world". Whether its the big 4 ABC titles that we bash on, its still a title.

Basically, lineal/Ring, ABC titles, it is a world title.

thread starter is right pac is a 4 division champ..he did not win titles at 126 and 140. ring is not a title it is a MAGAZINE a magazine cannot sanction a title fight

and as far as beinbg lineal goes in order to become lineal you have to win a major sanctioning body title (WBC, WBA, IBF,WBO))

what makes a fighter "lineal" is that they had to fight a sanctioned title fight and beat the champion of that sanctioning body, now if they decide to drop the title after they win they cannot claim to still be the champion of that division.

you must win a title and keep a title(WBC, WBA, IBF, WBO) and defend it.

barrera won the wbc title at 126 over morales and dropped the title he is no longer lineal of anything because he dropped the title that made him lineal.

same gos for hatton the ****ing bum was belt hoping and beat zoo for his IBF title. that made him lineal. the moment he dropped that ibf title he was no longer the champ of that division.

champions defend their titles, being lineal gives fighters like hatton a free pass to fight weak comp when he should be defending his title against the best..not pretending he is some super champ because he beat one fighter.
