Considering he's beaten most of the other strap holders and seems pretty solid right now is his past reputation and some fans hatred of the best hw right now the reason so many underrate him? I think if you compare him to Lewis Wlad looks just as good as the last dominant hw champ.
Wlad is very underrated in my opinion, He has fought and beaten alot of good contenders and i for one rate him very highly because he's a skilled HW with good power, He just have a very disturbing fight style at the moment.
Many, if not most of the ATGs were underrated during their career. The ATG was added a few years after they retired. There are some exceptions.
Tyson and Lewis got big respect while still in the ring. Holyfield and Lewis didn't retire in time, instead they kept on fighting and damaging their own reputation (being broke does that to you, I guess).
Wlad didn't fight big names in his career, but that is not his fault. There simply are none. Except for his brother, I don't see any real challenge to his title for the next 2-3 years, 'till a new generation of hungry fighters steps up.
So, Wlad will get his due after his show is over. He'll be remembered as a technically brilliant but boring fighter who dominated the division for a long time and fought everybody who stepped up.*
*I said "stepped up" not "called up", so hush, Haye, go play with Valuev.
I agree with most of that, apart from the bit about Lewis going on too long or being broke.Neither is true.

in the end, i believe that's how he will be remembered
Wlad has stopped something like 14 fighters who were never stopped before. Who has Lewis stopped that had never been stopped before?
Wlad has never been counted out, Lewis has been counted out twice.
Wlad has more KOs. He's defeated more heavyweights who were ranked in the Ring top 10 at the time he fought them.
Wlad has taken a lot more "0"s: Brock, Peter, Chagaev, Ibragimov, Castillo, etc.
Lewis had an even greater reach advantage over his opponents (including Vitali) than Wlad, with his 29" arms and 84" reach.
Lennox's biggest wins were over the past-prime Tyson and the past-best Holyfield.
Lennox often resorted to dirty tactics (holding opponents arms, kidney punches, deliberate heat-butts to open cuts over the eye) while Wlad has won his fight fairly.
come off it lewis got punched twice & never got up & admitted not taking guys seriously & he avenged both losses.wlad been down 13 times & loss to puritty, brewster, sanders.lewis never list to guys like that.both mccall & Rahman were heavyweights champs & had solid careers.wlad is overrated.both klits had their chance & never got it done.alps wlad had to do was beat sanders & by the way he would have got counted out.lewis beat the best old or not but lewis was just as old as Holyfield & Tyson so that's a **** arguement...castillo,Brock,ibragimov were **** compared to lewis' credentials.you will always make excuses for the klits & come up with strange stats.you are digging to hard to convince people but it only works for klit fans.they were both in the Tyson ,Holyfield, lewis era but why fight a guy who can't beat sanders or puritty? No money in it & a 6'u 245lbs guy who quit vs Byrd? No money in it & vitali had an advantage vs lewis.2 week notice & a lewis who didn't train & he never got it done.lewis in shape we saw what he did to guys...pointless to rematch vitali & it's bull**** that lewis would get 20 million for a rematch or he would have done it.made no sense remarching him only to klit fans.if you can't beat lewis when he's not in shape & took the fight on 2 weeks notice you don't deserve a rematch.I'm tired of discussing this topic.the klits are only good because there is no one to fight.overrated to most of the world but not to dilusional klit fans.they had their chances but couldn't get it done until the best retired or got so old(holyfield).
If anything Lewis has been slightly overrated in recent years with writers in ring magazine calling him a top 10- top 5 ATG hw. Wlad has made his name beating the top guys of his era not former greats from the previous era. If Holy fought Wlad he'd get beat bad and what would that prove? If Holy-Wlad happend and Wlad won by an early KO would that make his level of competition as good as Lewis'?
I see you're just as ignorant as ever. Lewis beat Ruddock, Tua, Golata, Grant, McCall, Mercer, Bruno, Akinwande, Briggs Vitali, and every other top fighter of his era. Take Wlads thing out of your mouth for once. And your theory on Wlad vs that version of Holyfield is speculation ,not fact.
