Not the point. If Manny wants Cotto to come in 2 pounds under the weight limit, then the title should be off the table. If he wants a welterweight title, he needs to play by the rules and not force Cotto to come down to a catch weight, whether it's within the welter limit or not.

Manny's being a dishonorable prick, in my opinion. If he's that confident, let Cotto weigh in at the welter limit.

No, it's not within the rules. Anything that prohibits a fighter from coming into the weigh in at anything less than the weight limits for the weight class is a violation, and shouldn't be sanctioned.

However, since sanctioning bodies are basically whores, it wouldn't surprise me if they tell Cotto he has to offer his belt.

Again, Pacman should show some honor and dignity and either forget the belt, or let Cotto come to the weigh in at the weight limit.

I hope that if Cotto's already signed the deal, the part about not offering the belt was in writing. If so, then Pacman should shut the **** up about it. If not signed yet, then Cotto can tell him to go **** himself if he wants a catch weight and the belt.

What if Pacman tells Cotto he wants both the catch weight and the belt, if Cotto don't like it then Pacman will fight Mosley and give Mosley the 5 Million that Cotto will earn on this fight?

Then Cotto should tell him to go get himself a contract with Mosley. Cotto losing this fight against Pacman can be a career ender, and there's no sense in giving in to Manny on every single demand just to get into the fight. He should retain the title unless the limit for the class applies, period.

Cotto didnt make clottey come in at 146. manny can come in at any weight he wants between 141 to 147, but why restrict the other man from making 147(the welterweight limit)? He wants the 147lb title right?

I don't think Cotto would do that. He loves money more than his belt. He is just doing this to ask more money from Arum the way Manny demanded 143 lbs catchweight. Manny got his additional money. That's why Cotto is asking for his.

^ @stickman, Since when would losing to the pound for pound best fighter on the planet be a career ender?

When Roy Jones fought John Ruiz for the Heavyweight title, he didn't impose weight limitations on Ruiz...and Roy was the bigger draw and pound-for-pound #1.

Now Jones was a great champion, hear that Manny!

If boxing had a FIFA/FINA/ATP this nonsense wouldn't be happening...
