I don't think I agree, bro. Vargas once had a rock solid chin. I mean, he could take a shot. He lost his punch resistance after the Tito fight and steroids can't bring that. Right after Oscar stopped him I specifically remember Larry Merchant saying, "Vargas had a six pack on his stomach but not on his chin" or something like that.

I respectfully disagree. Vargas never beat a top fighter in his division again. Cotto did that just a couple months ago. Yes, the beating Cotto took from Margarito was horrible but what happened to Vargas against Tito...ugh. Horrible reffing from Nady. That was too much to put on such a young fighter.

Think about it...? He lost to Tito, Mosley (twice), May, Hopkins and Pac. All top competitors at the time! The only wins I give him is Quartey, Whitaker, and maybe Rivera and Chavez.

Furthermore, at no point did his corner tell him to run. They told him what they had been telling him the first seven rounds, "Don't get careless, just box." And since he was supposedly boxing so well before, why did he stop? Hilarious. Like his corner said, "run, run, run!"
