Pacman is not ******. He knows Cotto is bigger and stronger than him. He will do the De la Hoya fight plan, be cautious, avoid unnecessary exchanges, dart in to unload then dart out to avoid any counter, stay in the middle of the ring and keep Cotto turning. He will use his speed to his advantage and bring the fight on later rounds while slipping left uppercuts and left straights in the middle where usually Cotto's weaknesses. When Cotto begins to fade in later rounds..usually he does..Pac will step up the gas and ko Cotto between 10-12rd. If Pac thinks he can takes Cotto's best shot early and bring along his power at 145 then the fight will end early than I thought.

Good post, I agree with you that Pac will use the DLH game plan, the only thing is Cotto has better timing then DLH. I think Cotto will catch him coming in then we'll see how Pac's chin holds up above 140. If Pac doesn't get hit that much and doesn't get hurt, he could out box Cotto, I don't see a KO. But if Cotto hurts him he's one of the best at closing the show. Should be a great fight.Pacman is not ******. He knows Cotto is bigger and stronger than him. Pac wont go for KO, He got everything he needs (footwork, angles, accuracy, workrate) to accumulate a hell of a points in every round. just a full 12 rounds of smart boxing. As for cotto time pac as he lunges in and land a clean punch especially on the body. if pac can take cotto's punch then its really gonna be a long night for cottoComment

As posted already Its been a whiles since cotto has been in with a smaller man,he seems to struggle most against bigger fighters as he cant impose his power/size as much this will not be a problem with pacquaio.
I would love to see pacman win as I would like to see him and mayweather,I tink cotto has lost it a bit after the margarito loss and I tink floyd wud exploit that and therefor style wise manny's gives floyd a very tought fight.
But in honest opinion I tink the pacman gravy train ends the night he stepsin the ring with cotto,I assume manny's tactic's will be to hit and run,in and out throwing combinations but cotto is a very good pressure fighter and body punchers and will hunt manny form the first round.
I cant see manny knockig cotto out, although manny has one punch KO power, cottos chin is rock solid at 147(dont tink the 2 pounds will affect him at all,as on fight night we know hes coming in at 155-160),he has taken punches off come of the most powerfull in the WW devision and not seem fazed by it.my only concern bout cotto is I havent been too impressed since the margarito fight,ie jennings and clottey, the clottey one the cut was a big factor in the fight and he showed great heart I might add, just something seems missing form him(the margarito loss was devasting to him, shattering his confidence) and I tink it showed in his last 2 fights, now wether the clottey win has restored some of it we wont know till he fights manny but if it has I think manny is in real trouble. Im a fan of both fighters and am looking foward to the fight, just thought id give my opinion.Comment

The pronlem with relying on footowork is that most likely pac will get gassed. Pacquiao looked pretty tired in a couple rounds of DLH due to him carrying on a lot more weight.Originally posted by Katzexcellent post right there... Packy will use his superb footwork to dominateCotto.
Cotto's chances only is to trap Packy on the ropes..Pac will get out fast and bring the fight to the center of the ring.
If he slips up any round its lights out. pac has to really fight a perfect fight any mistake will cost himComment

They always forget: Speed in all things is Power...they never learn.Tired of reading Pac will KO Cotto or Cotto will give Pac a beatdown!
looking at the cotto vs Zab fight it is obvious that a counter punching style gave Cotto some problems, especially from the south paw stance. The problem with making comparisons from this fight is that Zab is a counter puncher, he fights off the back foot looking for opportunities. Pac dont fightlike that. Looking at the Quintana fight, Q had some moments. He landed the straight left some jabs and went downstairs with some success. You could also say that Cotto looked awkward at times trying to get into position to land his shots. Its also fair to say that Quintana who is a bigger guy probably could take a better punch at that weight than Pac can.
The Corley fight might be best fight to look at Cotto was giving him a beatin early on but took that infamous temple shot and the fight and his career just about got derailed. I havent seen this fight in a while so does anyone have observations on this one?Comment

Judah is flat footed while Pacquiao isn't. Judah doesn't even move in and out side to side from all angles with head movements all the time like Pac does. Cotto is slow.
I can see Pac 141 or 142 at the weigh in just like against Oscar and be 147-148 on fight nightComment

The early rounds are the most dangerous for Cotto, he needs to settle quickly, using his jab as much as possible... the jab is absolutely key for Cotto winning the fight IMO
Cotto wont' be slowing down as much as he did against Margarito or Clottey, and he won't be struggling fighting off the backfoot... Cotto loses rounds when he's getting pressured and forced back, fighting the smaller guy will favour him
But yeah, I see Pac taking the early rounds... getting worn down and eventually stopped late in the fight.Comment
