cotto's best weapon is the left hook. & his left jab. He is a very left handed dominant fighter.

If you're going up against a southpaw you're left hand is somewhat diminished due to the angles & boxing stance.

Best weapon vs a southpaw is a great right hand. Cotto doesnt have it.

Hatton & oscar are just like cotto in terms of being very left handed heavy fighters. even in his prime oscar had trouble with leftys. hatton had trouble with collazo, eamon mcgee dropped him.

Its more of a difficult match up for cotto style wise. Judah had cotto hurt multiple times, same with chop corley in puerto rico.

Pac's biggest worry is can he take cotto's power & still follow through with his game plan. If he can, long night for cotto.

Although Pac is probably a superior boxer to Cotto I think that Cotto could win if he limits Manny's early activity and attempts to frustrated him by being more elusive as he was in the later rounds vs Clottey, but of course throw better than he did in the stages he was "running" from Clottey.

Looking at Manny's last 2 fights he's started off too fast for his opponents to really handle and they've also gone in a bit too overconfident of being able to take his punches and damage him so Cotto needs to find a way to stop Manny getting into an explosive quick start.

If Cotto can bring somethin Manny and Roach aren't expecting and make them have to adjust he could take a few rounds before Manny starts to find a plan to counter Cotto and by this time it may be too late as Cotto may have put enough hurt on him to pick him apart.

I thought he won round 12 against Mosley. I think he was tired at the end of Margarito fight but he was sticking and moving the whole fight(while taking many punches from Marg. (plaster or not). As for Clottey I think he did faded a little but were talking about a big Clottey who has never been KOed pressuring a Cotto till the end. I cant imagine Cotto fighting backwards against PAc. Dont get me wrong I think PAc is great...he is even one of my favorites. I just feel that if a boxer continues to move up eventually it will catch up to him (IE Trinidad)

I think his stamina was greatly depleted...........fighting backward(margarito, clottey) which he wouldnt do against pac......................but PACS workrate and stamina are A+......i do think he CAN hurt miguel with multiple shots........

I agree. Like I said Pac is a true champion and a great fighter. I wouldn't be surprised if he found a way to win but I believe Cotto has more incentive to win.
He was disrespected by taking less, he agreed to fight at 145, This win will put him in the casual fans minds. This is Cotto's biggest name and probably not his biggest challenge. He will be looked at on Puerto Rican legends status(Trinidad, Gomez etc) with this win.

biggest advantage or disadvantage at the very same time for cotto will be his choice of trainer.

he desperately needs some strategical guidance for this fight.

If Cotto beats Pac and revenge that "loss" against Margo...............i dont know if hes at par............i regard TITO and wilfredo highly............but in the same sentence at least.......................

cotto should seriously take up that emmanuel steward offer. what a battle of brains that would be between him & freddie. he can help cotto refine that jab just like he did for hearns & wladimir.
