how bout some real analysis on pac vs Cotto

The difference between pacs power and the afore mentioned fighters is simple, pac hits you with punches you dont see, shocking punches from weird angles. But Pac has gotten away with throwing a lot of lead lefts from too far outside and again I think he has had a bit of a soft touch here lately. I think Cotto will surprise Manny and Roach with his speed and accuracy and if Manny allows Cotto to go to the body via the left hook we will see his work rate and energy level drop off hard. rewatching the the 2nd pac marquez fight Manny got stationary in the middle rounds and allowed a smaller Marquez to hit him clean way to often. He cannot afford to do that against Cotto. The damage Cotto can inflict in comparison to Marquez is a big game changer. Course if Manny can get Cotto's respect early and discourage him consistently throughout I can see him getting a stoppage late or simply a safety first style win. Dont really know if Manny can be that disciplined over 12 but we will see.

Tired of reading Pac will KO Cotto or Cotto will give Pac a beatdown!

looking at the cotto vs Zab fight it is obvious that a counter punching style gave Cotto some problems, especially from the south paw stance. The problem with making comparisons from this fight is that Zab is a counter puncher, he fights off the back foot looking for opportunities. Pac dont fightlike that. Looking at the Quintana fight, Q had some moments. He landed the straight left some jabs and went downstairs with some success. You could also say that Cotto looked awkward at times trying to get into position to land his shots. Its also fair to say that Quintana who is a bigger guy probably could take a better punch at that weight than Pac can.

The Corley fight might be best fight to look at Cotto was giving him a beatin early on but took that infamous temple shot and the fight and his career just about got derailed. I havent seen this fight in a while so does anyone have observations on this one?

I view Cotto as a more accurate but slower version of Hatton, not necessarily more powerful. In terms of defense, you would notice Cotto`s left hand tend to habitually drop before throwing a hook and will be exploited. Cotto`s footspeed is turtle compared to Hatton. And Pac has had experience in a converted southpaw via the bigger dela Hoya. Again, both are sluggers but Pac has faster hands and throws in bunches.

But, these are only my opinions, what I actually see. Maybe others see this also, that`s why odds are currently 2-1.
