Here's a wild and shocking claim: all versions of Hamed lose handily.

At no point in his career did Hamed have the ability to adapt strategies during the course of a fight. He always relied on his power and reflexes alone to carry him through any tough spots he got into, and when they failed him there was no substance to fall back on. He had reached the limit of success his style could carry him to.

Barrera on the other hand was a true professional: he suffered some hard defeats, adjusted his style, and came back a better fighter even though he was older by the standards of the lower weight classes.
As ridiculous as it may seem, a lot of fight fans just can't seem to comprehend this.

Someone died in his family, somethin happened? Or it's just an excuse for being devasted by the experience of losing?

After watching him against Barrera and Calvo, his family begged him to retire.

Hamed was not on the big four's level. He was just shy of it though. I do think he would have been hell for a young Pacquiao.

After the loss to Barrera he came back and beat the current IBO/IBF champion, then retired.

                      Manuel Calvo? IBF Champ?

                      Never.

Yes, he was the IBO champ but that belt then meant as much as the crackerjack title. Calvo wasn't and never was a top contender.
