very very very very dissapointed in this. Why is Allen Green not mentioned, no bute, no andrade, come on?? Taylor?? who the hell really wants to see his no disciplined ass?? Balloons up between fights, and runs out of gas, no confidence having. I respect ward, dirrell, froch, abraham, kessler, but dam give green a shot, dude wins impressively and you never know what type of star might emerge, **** throw paul williams name in the mix - showtime needs better match making, they really need to log onto these boxing sites, too see what the fans really think, i'm going to watch because i am a die hard fan of the sport, but just do it right, a points system, so fighters do not have to give it their all and can still advance - you guys will end up as losers in this one, have an elimination tournament so they fight their hearts out and the fans win....

PHUCK GREEN......He's a nobody and he lost to Miranda, Taylor was at least undisputed middleweight champion. Taylor resume ****s on Green and when you fight the type of fighters that Taylor has fought, you are bound to loss sooner or later.
Who has Green ever beaten? He done nothing at SMW, he hasn't even hada title shot yet because his punk ass can't get ranked.
he's a *****-ass *****!!!! and a whiner too.

Styles make fights.
and for the record im not going triangular logic, just saying that Taylor had tremendous trouble vs Froch (be it in the later rounds) who is considered an Elite level 168 pounder
yet coasted vs Jeff Lacy who is seen as a bit past his prime (to generously put it)
so wouldn't Taylor seemingly have his struggles with other Elite Level fighters, i.e. Ward, Dirrell, Abraham and Kessler
and way to use one of the most over used boxing cliches of all time
yes styles might "make fights" but taking the match up of Froch/Taylor for example Taylor is the superior fighter with better all around skills (boxing wise, athletically) and on paper "should win"
but Taylor's ****ty stamina cost him, and he lost with about 15 seconds to go.
and as your Heavyweight examples provided on paper and real life are 2 different situations
as the favorite doesn't always win.

im just saying you can use the "styles make fights"
but your forgetting the intangibles
as yes matching the skill sets someone with the abilities of a Jermain Taylor should romp over a tough but limited Froch
and what, are you telling me that 9 out of 10 times when matched up, the "making of the fight"
will play out to Fighter A (in this case lets say Taylor) wins a majority of the rounds, only to get stopped with 15 seconds to go by Fighter B
or what about Baldomir/Judah .. that's a bout on paper the more talented fighter (again im talking over all boxing ability + skill level) should win.
but in the cases of Taylor and Judah
the intangibles are for Taylor his bad stamina, and Judah's lack of mental toughness.
forget the "style" BS .. sometimes the better fighter wins.

wow, that would be awesome, it's about time one of these networks puts something together that is sure to produce good fights, make good matches, and a system to find out who is the best SuperMiddleWeight......
if Showtime pulls this one off and everything goes as planned, this will drive another nail into HBO boxing...............
showtime is really making changes in their boxing programming, they've been making better match ups, and been showing more fights this year, they're leaving HBO boxing in the dust with their old formula, showtime is trying to break out of the old structured way of doing things, and it's shaping up to prove to be better..............
this has me pumped up...

This is the best thing that I've read all day by far, but, will the sanctioning bodies allow this or will it be a tournament filled with ex-world champions? Not that this matters too much really, this would be a fantastic tournament, hope all comes together.
Do you reckon HBO will be dissapointed they didn't arrange something like this? Might follow on with a different weight class or something never know...
Also happy Taylor gets this as a chance to get his career back on track, again. He does deserve it IMO.
