yeah HBO has definitely dropped the ball as of late and props to Showtime for trying to get this going.

Shut up with the Green talk, he hasn't done ****. It sucks that Bute and Andrade aren't involved and it's very fortunate for Ward & Dirrell.

IF this takes place and especially if they do a good job with marketing, maybe even some 24/7 style docs (ambitious i know but one can hope), then you have the public fimiliar with the fighters and a legit claim to who is the best. That's what boxing needs.

K-1 while the format lends itself to injuries and isn't the ideal way to go about it at least they have a legit Grand Prix World Champ annually.

Whether it makes the sactioning bodies get on board or they're made to appear impotent and obsolite, either way, it's a win win situation.

      That would be awesome.

And in German TV on ARD which has a contract with Sauerland and shows every Sauerland event, they said according to Wilfried Sauerland the promoters were planning something big at super middleweight we would probably get to hear about more in the next few days. Something great should happen for sure

If they really do a round robin style tournament, I do not think there would be a real number one super middleweight, though. Cant imagine anyone to stay undefeated against that opposition.

Fatter du ikke hvad der egentlig foregik i Kessler-Miranda forhandlingerne?

Why do you keep on posting those lies about Kessler-Miranda when you are fully aware of what actually happened? Why cant you accept that? Why all this hate?

Sounds almost as impossible as Floyd Mayweather fighting a legitimate welterweight... joking*

This would be great to happen!

Who would most likely pick this tournament up in the UK? Sky?

you know how it is bat, some people just overlook the facts and can't make an objective analysis of what happened.

imo the robin round tourney is a great touh, part of me would have preferred a knock out elimination style tourney but that often causes fight fans to miss out on big fights and a robin round means that some of the better fighters still have a chance to come back if they slip up.

its pretty amazing that they've managed to organize this and get the organizations, promoters and fighters on board. maybe bute and andrade missed out because they're preoccupied with each other?

the only thing that will hurt mikkels chances are his inactivity, hes also a huge SMW and hopefully hes still able to make the 12st limit.

AA is a good bet to win, the guy is strong as an ox. he had to kill himself to make MW and incredibly he could still take a shot, no-one at SMW is KO'ing him with one shot. also moving up to 168 should allow him to be more active in the ring as he won't be as fatigued from making weight.

but still i gotta back my man mikkel in this.

Is this a joke? This just sounds too good to be true.

I just don't understand why some posters just doesn't want to be wiser.

It's a massive puzzle this tournament. So many promotors and different countries I can hardly believe it. I hold my breath untill some official announcement is made. I'm surprised that no danish media has picked the story up yet.

Kessler has a lame mandatory. I don't know how this piece will fall into place, but it would be a nice tune-up for him.

I disagree on your take of AA. He was hurt quite badly by Lajuan Simon and looked a bt shook when Oral tested his chin. Maybe his chin will get better with the added weight, but the punches he'll have to take will also be harder. I'm not calling him chinny by any means, but he has shown some vulnerabilty that he hasn't shown before.

if mandatories are going to get in the way then i hope the fighters just ditch the belts and go at , of course id love it if the belts were all on board and the tourney produces a unified champ. but even if it doesn't at least we end up with someone who we can look at and say he is the no.1 SMW right now.

the only thing that worries me is mikkels inactivity and making weight. i know he stays in good shape between fights but he is entering his early thrites now and his body will grow. maybe the mandatory (perdormo i think) will be beneficial for him it will allow him to get his focus back on boxing and away from palle-gate.

AA has shown vulnerability at times but i think his fight with simon was one f his poorer performances at M. imo he is more polished than froch, smarter than andrade and i think he would give any SMW a run for their money.

but damn this is some good news after all the cancellations we've had over the last few months.
