Here's the deal. LOOOOOONG before the Floyd "nuthuggers" made a big deal about FMJ, do you know who made a big deal? The expert boxing insiders and writers.

The guy is a three-time National Golden Gloves winner. He went to the Olympics and beat a Cuban. And then was robbed of a gold medal. 2 years into his career, he beat - no DOMINATED - a respected champion. He then beat - no DOMINATED - a scary, p4p-ranked Corrales.

FMJ was ranked on Ring Magazine's pound-for-pound list for TEN consecutive years. 10 years. Culminating in three years atop that list. He is a two-time Fighter Of The Year. Fans don't vote for those. The boxing writers and experts that you read and listen to vote for those.

The guy went through this list undefeated (39-0, 25 KO's): Corrales, Chavez, Jukko, Gatti, Goyo Vargas, Castillo, Castillo again, Judah, Delahoya, Hatton, Corley, Manfredy, Famosito, Chicanito, etc. The only hiccup was the first Castillo fight. Don't think he won? OK, fine. He rematched the guy immediately. Any questions now?

He moved through five different weight classes. He went to FOUR higher weight classes after fighting 75% of his career at SFW. You know how impressed you are by Manny given that Pac started at 106 when he was 16 years old? Well, guess what weight Floyd won the national amateurs at 16 years old? Yep, 106.

He has never had his butt on the canvas. Broke his hand and touched the mat against Famoso. Knocked off balance by Judah. That's it.

He has won fights by slugging (Corley, N'Dou), by classical boxing (Corrales, castillo 2), fighting inside (Chavez, Hatton) and fighting outside (Baldomir, Delahoya). When he had to, he even became a "pressure fighter" (Sharmba, Judah). He has beaten guys with the right hand (Judah). With the left hook (hello, Ricky). With the bodyshots (Apodaca, Sharmba, Bruseles).

He told you that he would stop Gatti in six rounds. And did it.

Was in the biggest selling fight in boxing history. Was a staple of KO Nation, Boxing After Dark, WCB, and PPV. He was the opponent when the following fighters had their biggest fights and biggest paydays: Gatti, Judah, Baldomir, Delahoya and Hatton. He was on the first two 24/7 series. He sold out the Thomas & Mack Center fighting Zab Judah, a guy with no real fanbase. In an event where Zab refused to participate in the promotion.

He has always been classy in the ring. Never cheated. Never showed up out of shape. Never cut corners. Never linked to steroids. Never missed weight. Always complimented his opponents AFTER the contest. Even when Team Zab and Uncle Rog thugged out, he stayed out of the riot. When he had promotional problems, he bought out of his contract for $750K. He didn't sit out.

You don't have to like the guy. Most people don't. But respect the accomplishments. If you are a bigger fan of the SPORT than you are a hater, respect Floyd's hustle.

That, sweetie, is what's so great about Floyd.

This is also a good argument.... By Q

You still don't get it Horus, you can dissect both their careers & obviously Floyd has achieved more but the fact that Pacquiao achieved this level in spite of coming from a poor family is really what makes Pac favorable

Coming from a family of boxers, floyd is expected to have bright career. How about Pac? Pac puts his boxing gloves in order to feed his family. While Floyd's winning the national gloves, state gloves champs etc. Pac is struggling to feed his family with only money he earned in boxing

But when you both summed up their career til now, Pac still edges Floyd in most lineal titles & most titles in division. Both have two Ring Fighter of the Year awards

This is what makes Pac special over any of our boxers today, he STRUGGLED in life in order to reach where he's standing now

And don't bring up the race of Floyd being black, hell when was the last time a FILIPINO became a pound for pound king?

                      jesus. ****ing. christ.

this is way out of hand.

pac has been beat... does that mean that he could not have gotten better since then? in boxing, can a fighter with three losses not beat an undefeated fighter? bernard hopkins had 5 losses when he dismantled kelly pavlik.

floyd has never faced a fighter as good as pac is right now, and vice versa. styles make fights, pick who you want to pick, but quit discrediting two of the best fighters of our generation to make your fav look better.

also, those essay length posts are absolutely ridiculous. pac and floyd will eventually throw down. realize that when it comes down to it, its just floyd vs pac in the ring, all the other bs you can come up with wont make a difference. they are both extremely accomplished fighters, and nothing said in this thread automatically determines who will win the fight.
