    yeah Thread Totally destroyed.

Im one the very few that gives Horus Green because i like some of his thread, im also a Mayweather fan. But not even my 14000+ karma can make him green.

Now i understand he has this severe nuthugging syndrome. much worse than Larry i think.

Considering both posters, mating is a strong possibility, the breeding might be a little tricky tho!

Furthermore you wan't to judge these two when theyre age 21, why not at age 16 when Pac was a pro, and floyd had 6 losses in the amateurs? Floyd was groomed to fight from the get go. Manny was not. Over the last 10 years which fighter has evolved more? Life ain't about being perfect, it's about improving. Judging them both by the same standards Pac done the following:
Sorry for not being on here more often because I would replied to this quicker. But I have a job that I am trying to be great at that job, so I really can not be here everyday.
I am going to approach your post like I do every post. I am not going to attack your motive...
But I will break down your logic.

You say you want to judge Pacquiao and Mayweather at the age of 16 when Pacquiao turn pro and Mayweather was still Fighting in Amateurs.

Do you understand how much Wrong with this comparison.

                  First:
Do you understand in the United States a fighter can not turn pro until the age of 18 therefore Floyd did not have the opportunity to turn pro at the age of 16 like Pacquiao did!!
So you can not blame Floyd for something he had no control over. Which are the Laws of the United States of America!

                  Second:

Furthermore do you really think Fighters approach a professional fight the same way they approached an amateur fight? How many fights do you think Floyd could have won if the other fighter wasn’t wearing Headgear and the judging system wasn’t as ****ty as the amateur system …!!

Here is a fun fact for you in the Amateur system you can only score a point if all judges press the button at the same time… that’s it. And in that System All Mayweather’s loses came by 1 point except 1 time. When he lost by 2 points. But how many points do you think were miss in the floyd favor simply because How quick Mayweather is and slow the judges reaction might have been to floyd’s punches.?
And that is just one example how flawed the system is…

So if you understood the dynamics of Amateur boxing you would have never made that comparison.

You wanting to Compare Amateur Boxing to Professional boxing...
Is like comparing Dolphin to a Dog… The two are completely different Animals

                  Honestly let’s used commonsense.

Just for Perspective sake to show how great Mayweather was in the Amateur System.
Floyd Mayweather was a Five-time U.S. National Amateur Champion:
3 different weight classes. (106-125 lbs)
Since the age of 16 Floyd Mayweather was the considered the best in whatever division he fought in. Started at 106 pounds at the age of 16 ending at 125..

                  • 1996 Olympic Bronze Medalist, 125 Lbs (Controversial decision was officially protested by the U.S. team.
                  • 1996 National Golden Gloves Champion, 125 Lbs (Age 19)
                  • 1996 Michigan State Golden Gloves Champion, 125 Lbs (Age 19)
                  • 1995 U.S. National Champion, 125 Lbs (Age 18)
                  • 1995 National PAL Champion, 125 Lbs; Outstanding Boxer award (Age 18)
                  • 1994 National Golden Gloves Champion,; Outstanding Boxer Award (Age 17)
                  • 1994 Michigan State Golden Gloves champion, 112 Lbs (Age 17)
                  • 1993 National Golden Gloves Champion, 106 Lbs (Age 16)
                  • 1993 Michigan State Golden Gloves Champion, 106 Lbs (Age 16)

Now who can say ever since they starting boxing they have been consider the one of the best. from 16 to 32. from amateur to Pro.

                  not many

                    3. Became a world champion the same time as floyd, considering floyds retirements he's been a world champion longer.
                    4. Pac's career has spanned more weight classes.
                    5. Pac has fought in more weight classes.
                    6. Pac has won 6 world titles in 6 different weight classes.
                    7. If Pac beats Cotto, he will have his 3rd fighter of the year award which would be a record.
                    8. Ring magazine named Pac fighter of the decade for the 2000s.
                    9. Pac's resume/overall body of work is better than Floyds (refer to any number of previous polls done on here.
                    10. Pac caters to the fans a lot more than pbf does in that he consistently looks to challenge himself and take the toughest fights.
Now the above are just in the ring, outside the ring:
                    1. Pac's story is amazing. Something hollywood couldnt even dream of. Can you name a better rags to riches story? As good maybe, but better? No way.
                    2. Pac was rated in forbes top 100 most influential people in the world.
                    3. The man has his face on a stamp in the phillipines.
                    4. The crime rate in Manilla drops to near 0 only during his fights.
                    5. A civil war seizes fire for 24 hours during his fights.
                    6. In 6 years since the Barrera fight he has climbe to the top, defied odds & taken over boxing the old fashioned way.
                    7. He's got a nike commercial with Kobe Bryant coming out next month.
                    8. He's got former presidents wanting to see him.
                    9. Future president of his country.
                    10. A symbol of hope for 100,000,000 people around the globe.
                    11. He can barely speak english but he's made boxing hot again, something floyd has never and will never do.

If there was an argument about them inside the ring, there isn't anymore when you consider them outside the ring.

Despite all the above, floyd is a better technical boxer. Pac is a better fighter. As Thomas Hauser said, boxing is a skill, fighting is the spirit in which you display that skill. Pac represents the best of boxing. Pac is a higher ATG at this time.

You summed up your problem when you started barking about Pac's losses. Nobody is perfect. That's ignorance at it's best. Human nature will appreciate a man who takes risks and faces the jaws of defeat over a man that stays outside that radius. For these reasons Pac is the greatest fighter on the planet.
Open your eyes and look outside a fighters record.

If you look carefully at the ATG list you'll see the common denominator are the losses.
1998 and 2007 Ring Magazine Fighter of the Year award winner voted on by the board Floyd Mayweather.

                    Floyd Mayweather:

                    Many Pacquiao:

“Ring magazine named Pac fighter of the decade for the 2000s”
                    &

( I will not attack your motives for posting such a ridiculous statement, but I will attacks your Ignorance to such a claims and I will provide the facts.)

                    FACTS:
                    • Pacquiao did not win a Official RING Magazine’s Fighter of the decade award by a select board of RING Magazine voters…
                    • Pacquiao was named Fighter of the Decade by Michael Rosenthal. in one of his blogs That is it. and for you to claim that RING Magazine gave Pacquiao such an Award is truely disingenuous
                    • 1 guy compiled a list of fighters who he thought were the fighters of the decade…
                    • Pretty Amazing that you forgot to mention that.
                    • But I would expect you to leave out that little detail.
                    • That In your Opinion 1 person can compile a list that all of boxing must take hold too.

Rosenthal even says that he got a lot criticism and a whole Lot of mail about it, and not all of it was kind.

This was his case for Pacquiao being fighter of the decade in his SOLE OPINION:

"The answer finally became clear: Because Pacquiao moves me, as does Marquez to a lesser extent. The others don’t.. "

                    (WTF ! WTF! And WTF!)

                    He goes on to say:

"I acknowledge that a strong case can be made that Mayweather is the best fighter of the 2000s. He is the most naturally gifted of these fighters and has a perfect record (39-0, 25 knockouts). He has what it takes to win and does so, plain and simple."

Do you want to know who disagree's Michael Rosenthal.and who has gone on record as calling Floyd Mayweather the greatest of this era::
                    1. Sugar Ray Leonard
                    2. Bernard Hopkins
                    3. Oscar De La Hoya
                    4. Shane Mosely
                    5. Kostya Tszyu
                    6. Zab Judah
                    7. Bob Arum
                    8. Wladimir Klitschko

I think Rosenthal likes “the story” part of Manny Pacquiao …this what made him pick him over floyd..But is liking someone enough to say he think you should be fighter of the decade???? Plain and Simple NO.

                    READ BELOW FOR REAL PERSPECTIVE

Floyd is apart of a Boxing Lineage And RACE where he can never become a “hero.” Like Pacquiao.
Floyd is following a tradition of great fighters like Ali, Hearns, SRL, Jones, Sugar Ray Robinson, Joe Louis, Herny Armstrong, Marvin Hagler, Pernell Whitaker etc..

With coming behind Those kind of fighters Floyd does not have the luxary of being his people pride because other fighters before him already holds that title..

Tell me something if there wasnt a Sugar Ray Robinson., Louis, Henry Armstrong, Marvin Hagler, Pernell Whitaker, Ali, and other great black fighters.

And Floyd was truly the first great fighter of his race. You do not think he would have the hopes of 100,000,000 black people around the world?

                    Be honest with yourself.

Floyd is a victim of Past Fighters success.
When people want to argue floyd’s greatness who do they compared him with?

They compare him with His predecessors
SRR,SRL, ALI, HEARNS, and so on…

Imagine if Pacquiao Race produce those kinds of fighters that Floyd had to follow behind.

Do you still think Pacquiao would still be treasured as he is now… or would he just be another great fighter from a race... that has always produce great fighters like Floyd is currently in.

Pacquiao is never judge and compared to fighters like Ali, Hearns, SRL, Jones, Sugar Ray Robinson, Joe Louis, Henry Armstrong, Marvin Hagler, Pernell Whitaker etc when discussing his personal greatness...

Pacquiao gets judge on his own merit because he is the first of his race
to do what he has done. and That right there is the MAJORITY of the reason why people THIS HIS story is so appealing.

Eminem once said that if he was black he wouldnt have sold half the records
                    he has sold...
                    .

Why do you think he said that?
He said it, because if he was black he would have been just another rapper
among a crowd of already great rappers.

Now let's add that logic and reasoning to Pacquiao.
Imagine if Pacquiao came from the same Boxing Lineage as Floyd Mayweather..do you think Manny would have the status he has today.

I will give you my answer:
                    NO.

Manny Pacquiao is all the Pinnoy have. and that is to his advantage.
The same can not be said of Floyd Mayweather because he comes from a race that produces some many greats that he is just one of the many great champions that are black. and that is to his determent.

If you look carefully at the ATG list how many Pinnoy's are on that list?

Now If you look again how many Blacks are on that list?

Now ask yourself. Who would have a tougher time standing out on that list
                    Manny Pacquiao or Floyd Mayweather.
