Ortiz has the raw talent but he's very flawed at the moment. If he couldn't handle a very crude Maidana (admittedly very tough also, but still) then I think I, and most people, have overestimated him somewhat. At least overestimated where he currently is, development wise

The quitting thing, meh... It is what it is... I was more disappointed in Victor's actual performance than that mess

Whether he brawl or not, Ortiz still quit. Even though he was landing more punches, Maidanas punches hurt him. Just look at the knockdowns. Maidana was KD 3x and got up and wasn't shaken. On the 2nd knockdown, Maidana took a knee but he wasn't daze. Now you look at the Ortiz KD, he got up, he was still dazed and holding on to Maidana afterwards. He got a cut but we have seen worst cuts than that.

Good article. I'm gald to hear Ortiz clear up the misconceptions. DLH is right though, all 3 judges had Ortiz winning 48-45 at the time of the stoppage; it should have been Ortiz' night.

Actions speak louder than words and we all saw that biatch flat out quit. Then to confirm what I already saw, he went on to use words to reassure me. I'm not going to go down. I don't deserve to be beat like that. Sounds like words of a sore loser/quitter.
