You also seem to forget that MP doesn't fight inside, he uses the ring and keeps his distance so unless Coto is willing to take some combos to the dome, he's not getting in close. Not to mention Cotto's defense and body shots are completely open to MP's strait left and the counter punching he's been utilizing since JMM2.

This is going to be a good matchup but I think in the end Pac's speed and versatility will chip away Cotto leading to a UD or late TKO.

Like all other fights MP will start off HOTT.Landing punches with combination exchanges.I think that infamous "straight left hook" will not have that advantage in this fight. And i've never seen cotto go down with a body shot hit (minus margo). The big factor i would say would be cotto's power jab.

If there is inside game cotto would have the upper is what im trying to say.The chip chip down theory i give to cotto.late tko 9

    • Seen to be like everything is cooking well. This comment came out to accept Cotto’s weight since he said he would not go under 145. Cotto is too smart, young and stronger for Pacquiao. Cotto is not De la Hoya at the end of his career and less Hatton which he doesn’t know how to fight. Cotto will destroy Pacquiao in less than 8 rounds.

The best boxer in the world? Maybe the best fighter or p4p #1 but everybody knows the BEST BOXER is Ivan Calderon because of his superb skills.

Did you even read the article?

He said he doesnt mind the fight being at 145 and is still sure manny can win at that weight....also he weighted 146 for clottey.....

          • I'm disappointed that this fight is taking place to be frank. I don't really blame Pacquiao all that much either. He obviously isn't going to be sticking around a whole lot longer, and why not make the big bucks while the pot is hot. I blame Miguel Cotto and Shane Mosley for not having the balls to fight each other. Has Cotto expressed interest in rematching Shane Mosley in Vegas? You would think he would take more control over his career now that he doesn't have to fight for Arum anymore. It also kind of looks contradicting to bad mouth a promoter for supporting a certain fighter (Margarito during the hand wrap issue) and yet continue to do business with him.

Mosley also deserves the criticism he gets for sitting on the shelf and milking that win over Margarito. And obviously Shane is whoring himself to no end for a chance to fight Pacquiao. This **** is such a circus act.

            • 145 is cool but why not just leave it at 147 so people wont have excuses?

              • So the fight is at 145..... Is it for Cotto's Welterweight strap though???

That's what they said about Hatton.

And if Pac wins, the haters will say Cotto was never the same after Margarito. It's always the same old ****.

Then again, Pac is NOT a 147lb fighter, but he's so good, he might just beat Cotto.

But, theoretically Pac should not be facing boxers this big.

If this fight was mentioned a year back we would have laughed it off.
This shows how ignorant people on these forums are about boxing. To think that the fighters need to weigh in at 147 for the belt to be on the line is just ridiculous! They just can't weigh MORE than the weight limit (which is why it's called a limit, Einsteins).

BTW, Pac by TKO in 8 rounds. I'm a huge Cotto fan, but I just don't believe that Miguel can handle Pac's speed, footwork, and power. Speed kills and Cotto is going to look horrible.

We all remember how fast Judah looked against Cotto (another fast southpaw) and I think Pac is going to look even faster. Cotto isn't comfortable fighting southpaws (see Chop-Chop chicken dance and Judah uppercuts) and this one will be his toughest yet.

I'm willing to put all my points on Pac if anyone wants to go with me (just PM me).

Pac was fighting off the back foot in that fight, which meant he didn't set himself to punch with full power like he did against Hatton.
