Pac can weigh whatever he likes. But to stipulate that Cotto has to weigh in at catchweight if his Welterweight title is on the line is a different matter. To call yourself the world Welterweight champion if you're not willing to fight any Welterweights unless it's at catchweight is bull****. Is he going to defend the title if he wins it? And if so, will he stipulate that all the defences must be at catchweight as well? I don't have a problem with the fight being at 145, as a fight, but as a title fight, it's just bull****.

i dont think running away from your opponent equals best boxer in the sport. best boxer in the sport is marquez, mijares, fraudjr, & yes calderon.

being the best boxer doesnt always equal the best fighter & doesnt always equal beating the better fighter.

nah, anything from 141 to 147 lbs is a WW fight and the title is on the line.

This is ******. If you're going to make a fight at 145 with the belt on the line you might as well make it at 147. Just as 145 was not going to break Cotto as some people make it seem 147 is not going to break Pacquiao. Cotto will be able to make 145 comfortably and both fighters are still going to weigh the same on fight night at 147 as they would at 145 so why bother with the facade??

Technically maybe, but how can you say you're the world's best Welterweight if you aren't willing to fight any Welterweights unless it's at catchweight?

I objected to the Ray Leonard-Lalonde fight having the Light Heavyweight title on the line for the same reason.

Hatton and Cotto fights the same way body punches and all but Miguel is just more refined boxer. But this fight will go the same way just like the Hatton fight but in the middle rounds Manny by KO.
