I am not a fan of Floyd Mayweather Sr's. After reading this post, I can see why he called Freddie Roach a joke coach. Besides, what's with all this catch weight bull anyway? Roach is asking to much. If he's that worried about Cotto that he needs to get him down to lowest weight possible then he has no business matching his fighter with Cotto. Catch weight 144 is more then fair. If the weight goes below that then Cotto should just call it off.

cotto's health is not worth this catchweight b.s. and if roach wants a 143 pound fight then theres a whole jww divison full of guys to choose from.

More importantly, the sport of boxing is too important to be made into a circus act. In a sport, the best fight at their best, and the best man wins. Trying to weight drain one of the fighters makes it into a circus act, not a sport. That's the last thing boxing needs.

And it's not in Pacquiao's interests anyway. He'll get no credit if he wins against a weight drained fighter. Whereas if he managed to win against Cotto against 147, he'd achieve immortality, and be legitimately compared with Henry Armstrong. And even if he lost, he'd gain huge respect for his courage and for facing the most meaningful challenges. Even a loss against Cotto at 147 would do far more for his legacy than a win at catchweight would do.
