***** move by Roach!!!!!
Cotto previously accepted a 145 catchweight(Wich is still Bull ****).
WW limit 147. Cotto is a WW if they dont want Cotto at 147, then Go fight Bradly or Ortiz at 140, and stop the ridiculous catcweights.
Im glad Cotto is smart enough and he aint bending for dollars!!!
Again **** Catchweights. getting people to unhealthy weights whether is lower or higer is a ***** ****ing move!!!!!

I wish Manny could override Roach or Arum. This fight should either happen at 147 or 140. Nothing more, nothing less.
Manny will fight anybody at any weight if Roach or Arum told him to do so. Heck he moved up from lightweight to 145 to fight ODLH and he didn't know that DLH was going to come in like that. He was ready to fight a tip-top shape DLH. Let them fight at 147 or 140. That's it.

Roach wants to get Cotto down as low as possible. [details]
And I think Roach is seriously under-estimating Pacquiao's ability in any case. Pac is now an exceptionally strong and powerful Jnr Welterweight. Where he started is irrelevant. He was the first Jnr Welterweight that Hatton has ever faced who looked stronger and more powerful than Hatton in the ring. It's hard to believe that someone who destroyed the #1 rated Jnr Welterweight as comprehensively as he did couldn't be competitive only one weight class higher. He might not be the favourite to win, but he has made a habit of upsetting the odds and might do it again. Armstrong was only a Lightweight when he won and defended the Welterweight crown. If Pac wants to go down in history as someone who can be compared with the likes of Armstrong, he needs to forget about this bull**** circus act and dare to be truly great, by fighting Cotto at 147. If he really thinks he can't do that, he should forgetr about fighting Welterweights and clear out his own division, like all great champions do. There are plenty of good fights to be made at Jnr Welterweight.
Roach is making Pac look like another Floyd, too afraid of taking any risks, putting risk-free big money ahead of his legacy. That's sad, because until recently, that's not something he could have ever been accused of doing.Last edited by Dave Rado; 06-20-2009, 06:56 PM.

With Oscar / 147, Roach has made it pretty clear that it was a one-off that happened to be worth the massive payday. He thinks Manny fighting at 147 is pushing his luck. I agree, as Pacquiao only hydrates to approx. 148 on fight night. I mean damn, he ate full meals on the day of the Hatton weigh-in and still only reached 138lbs. He is not a big dude.
