Being competitive is one thing but you leave out one important detail, he (Cotto) will be weakened, so what exactly is the point? PAC won't be fighting the best version of Cotto, so again I ask--what is the point? Wait, I think we already know the point...he won't be coming in at his best and Roach seems content with that notion.

This is what is the TOTAL OPPOSITE of "POUND-FOR-POUND"!!! If you are the so called #1 P4P, It shouldn't matter at what weight you fight, you can beat anybody. Roach, stopping trying to drain, and weaken Cotto to have an advantage!!!

Sad that Man who call themselves the best try to win by facing smaller guys, or "drained" guys, IF YOU CALL YOURSELF THE BEST FACE THE BEST AT THEIR BEST (HELLO, THAT GOES TO PBF & PAC-MAN). They that Cotto will get in that arzzzz if they fight at his weight, besides He is the Champ so if Pac wants to fight him or Mosley fight at their weight or very very close to it if it is for a belt!!!!! :****you: Roach

          **** roach

Cotto was burning muscle tissue when he was fighting at 140, that's why he moved to welterweight, i don't wanna see a drained cotto loose. ok pac man beat a drained de la hoya, a brawler with no game plan on hatton, not the best lightweight on diaz, a past his prime barrera and morales, and the only tough fight on marquez. I want him to beat a prime strong cotto. **** you roach

wow...i didn't even see this thread until now. This thread went by fast. I didn't like this fight setup to begin with. I knew something was up because it happened so fast. Cotto has been through hell lately, what with getting pummeled with plaster, dealing with a good fighter with a f'in' gaping hatchet wound over his eye, and he's always fighting the guys everybody else avoids.

Not to mention family problems, trainer situation...even though he says he's cool with it, he would say that, cuz he's no whiner and doesn't complain. Plus he needs more time for that deep cut to really heal good. I think he needs a good rest. Enjoy some family time and ****.
But i think he should tell roach to take a flying *** thru a rolling donut for trying to weaken him for a bloodthirsty Manny. Let them either both fight at their own best weight levels, or *** it. And we know THAT ain't gonna happen.

+1 remember this is only coming out of roach's mouth. NOT PACQUIAO.

144 isn't bad. since last saturday he was able to make 146. 2 lbs is NOT tremendous.

144-145. or no fight. don't let roach ruin the fight over 1-2lbs. this is history for a lb or two. and he is the lb4lb champ. coming from a pac fan.

i think cotto would be fine at 145. i don't want any questions or any doubts lingering if pac wins. let's get it to 144-145 PAC! stick with your own words!

I think the fight is already made and that this is just part of the promotion process. Might be a little bit of hedging too. This is a very risky fight for Manny, but probably the biggest payday because of the split. In case Manny loses, Cotto was too big, and Roach warned about it so still looks good.
