If Pacquiao really is afraid of Cotto, which it looks like, how the hell is he going to have the balls to fight Shane Mosley? Or even Floyd Mayweather for that matter if he beats JMM impressively (which I don't think will happen anyway, but still)?

Manny Pacquiao beat a past his prime De La Hoya. He beat Ricky "The worst footwork and defensive fighter who walks into punches he does not see coming (see Mayweather Jr. and Pacquiao fight)" Hatton. Floyd Mayweather is still the best fighter in the world until someone beats him. And it wont be Manny Pacquiao.

do you honestly believe that?
please......
few fighters are scared of an opponent. they've been fighting their whole lives.

manny pays roach for his advice.
like i said......if it was up to me forget this fight.
but this fight will happen more likely than not.
I just dont understand why your saying how Cotto fans are nervous and dont want this fight to happen, I as a Cotto fan am ecstatic about this fight because i know if Miguel shows up healthy he will win in a great fight

Roach, Manny, or both are obviously nervous about this fight if their trying to physicaly drain Cotto

cotto can fight other welters.
solves the problem.
manny can just wait for jmm-floyd winner.
he can meet jmm at 140 or 138 or even at 135.
floyd wouldn't be a problem size wise at any weight because floyd doesn't come in the ring at 160-165 as cotto does anyway.

for his fighter the lower the weight the better.
no matter what the weight is , cotto will weight 10-15 lbs. more than his fighter.
the lower he gets the weight the closer it is to cotto being 10 lbs. heavier instead of 15.
i don't agree with it though.
just let manny fight a tuneup at 140 and then wait for floyd-jmm winner.
tired of the cotto-pac nonsense.
people will just discredit pac's win over cotto anyway.
1. so Cotto will come in weighing more, is that automatically going to make Cotto win the fight? I'm pretty sure DLH, David Diaz and probably even Ricky Hatton weighed more than Manny on fight night, so I ask, is Cotto weighing 10 lbs more on fight night THAT big a deal? Didn't Henry Armstrong give up a good 6 or so pounds (dunno exact # so feel free to correct) against opponents
and if Arum is trying to hype up Pacquiao as "the modern day Henry Armstrong" what's the big deal about Cotto weighing more than Pac?
2. and regarding the Pac would be discredited anyway. well don't you agree that just about EVERYONE to a certain extent can discredit a win .. if you REALLY think about it.
oh he fought the wrong fight. or oh the judging ****** .. or oh, it was a lucky punch.
point made, wins get discredited ALL the time, it's the nature of the sport.
however I can say one thing, that if Pacquiao beat Cotto at 147 straight up, he'd get less crap for it
than if they fought at say 144-143 and Pacquiao just ran through him
plus read the Quote from Roach. I'm not gonna launch into a tyrade of profanitiy
but for Roach to openly say "the Lower we can get Cotto the better" yes it's true, but when fighting a Welterweight
is a straight up cowardly thing to say.
as Roach is implying that they will try to get Cotto as low as possible
why?
so he's weaker on fight night.
that's what Roach is getting at, right? lol

And unlike Roach, I think Manny does care about his legacy, and he is in danger of throwing away a chance to reach for the stars and achieve true greatness, and to be rated alongside fighters like Henry Armstrong.
I used to think that Pacquiao was a completely different kettle of fish from Floyd Mayweather, and that he puts legacy above risk-free money, but his reputation in that respect is being seriously damaged now.
Good points, but I honestly don't see him damaging his rep.
Did you think Cliff Rold's article was preachy, moralistic BS? To me it summed up why I love boxing.
Regarding my previous comment, what I'm whining about is some of the guys on this site (not necessarily yourself -- you know I have always appreciated your sense talk here) that keep ****ing on about how much of a bastard Roach is, as though he's this evil figure who's killing boxing. Boxing is fine! This is only one fight! I just think people over-react about stuff that's nowhere near as important as they are making out.
