DUHR, my naim is boxingfanboi, DUHHHHRRRRRR! Gay nude wrestling DUUHHHRRRR.
Actually, most pro boxers make less than MMA fighters, it's just the money-stealers at the top (aka "Money" Mayweather) who make the big bucks while the undercard boxers are getting the shaft.

I've said Sylvia has zero fighting IQ, in normal situation (different fighter) he wouldn't box with former world champion, instead he would try to get the fight to the ground.

Sylvia aint crap on the ground. Hes a standup fighter who knocked around Noguiera for 2.5 rounds before getting submitted. That fight was less than 2 years ago.

Arguably the best boxer to try MMA was only a decent one at best and hes 5-0. Others with boxing backgrounds who have tried MMA include Lytle, Davis, Hicks, Noons and all of them have done well.
Kickboxers like Crocop, Hunt, Overeem, Manhoef have also transitioned with some or even great success.
Stop lying. You and Burnell are spewing absolute lies. Sylvia was a good HW in MMA who beat and competed with some very good opponents.
Tell me, who did Sylvia beat? His biggest win's were against Rodriguez (who looked like **** after that fight) and Arlovski (who has no chin, and was beating Sylvia before getting ******).
Any other elite fighter he fought against, he lost... Got owned and outboxed by 50 lbs lighter, and 43 years old Couture, got submitted by Nogueira (who is really shot fighter these days), got submitted by Mir, got destroyed by Fedor. Sylvia beat two relevant fighters in his career, one of them has no chin, and other one is drug and alcohol abuser. And yeah, he beat 30 cm's smaller Monson, and LHW Vera where he just clinched with the guy.
Sylvia is not TOP 10 hw fighter these days, and is not TOP 200 in boxing.

And give me a break with Nishijima. MMA fans just grasp at straws. They have nothing, Nishijima beat ABSOLUTELY NOBODY relevant in boxing. Im actually offended you brought him up.
Musashi? Musashi isn't capable of finishing fights.
These are two different sports! Elite boxer beat MMA fighter? So did Elite judoka, elite wrestler, elite kick-boxer etc..
If Mercer is so good in MMA, why doesn't he fight Fedor than? One win against Sylvia doesn't make you an elite fighter.Last edited by Sudo; 06-14-2009, 04:54 PM.

That'd be like asking Roy jones to compete with anderson silva in a jiujitsu match where Roy wouldnt know the 1st thing about it. Absolutely no chance in hell.
Roy with 4oz gloves still might be quick enough to stop him if Silva didn't get the take down right away. Silva in a boxing match can't win, even if he lands flush he's just not the same puncher as a former big league boxer.

MMA is a sport which integrates several different fighting arts...which include boxing so it's all a matter of style matchups and strategy. Obviously boxers will have the best chance of winning if they stand and trade. Just as wrestlers will have the best chance at winning if they take their opponent down.

Obviously high level boxers can box the crap out of anyone that is NOT a boxer who is ****** enough to stand there with them.
Obviously BJ Penn would submit the crap out of anyone WITHOUT a jiu-jitsu background thats ****** enough to not throw any strikes at him.
