      • I don't see where this 116-111 scoring is coming from, or anything other than a 1 point edge for Cotto. I had rounds 4, 10 and 11 as toss ups (I had it as a toss up before seeing Compubox, gave it to Cotto in the end even though Clottey landed slightly more), and coincidentally I gave all of my toss ups to Cotto. That's three rounds that could've gone either way, and if I would've given any to Clottey then Cotto loses.

Clottey should not have left any question with rounds 10 and 11, and he completely gave away round 12. Cotto swept the last three rounds on my scorecard to nudge him ahead by one point. Cotto is my favorite fighter but this felt like a cheap win. I don't see how any Cotto fan can feel good after this one. I give him credit for fighting through the cut though, other fighters might ***** up and try to legitimize a stoppage. Anybody who cries robbery is completely justified, this was too close to have a decisive call either way.

I don't know if anybody wants to face Clottey after watching this though. His only problem this fight was inactivity, but other than that he looked scary.

Alot of nonsense!Cotto looked like ****.Where did he apear the better fighter? He looked flashy, but better? No Way!And what else do you expect on the rican day parade? No way Cotto loses that fight, and no way was this a fair fight.4 against 1 is not cool.Cotto, fans, promoter, and judges, tell me how Clottey was supposed to win this fight? It would have been a riot if anounced that Clottey had won, that's why they took so long to read the score cards. But all this bull**** aside,It should not surprise anyone how this unfolded.

            • Cotto looked like crap. Cotto didn't win; Clottey gave it away. If Clottey presses him like that idiot should have in the last 5 rounds...fight is over.

No,it's a "could have gone either".
Clottey dominated that fight being busier, but get dropped once.
So it's a closed fight scored with a closed decision.Don't be so upset baby boy.
He didn't won fair and square, bein dropped,he shoulda won 8 rounds fo that.

                He barely won 7 rouns,so it's a draw...In my opinion.
                Plus,Cotto get cut,so,Clottey wasn't so unlucky.He missed it.

Cotto looked like a guy who was badly cut.A cut is a second opponent. You feel uncomfortable, you got blood in the eye...

                  Clottey didn't Cotto,that's fantasy...I know what is robbery,da Chavez vs Withaker is,DLH vs Sturm is.That fight isn't.

Clottey wasn't able to beat the champion who was injuried, they shoulda stop the fight and send Baby Criing Clottey to the house, bein allowed to fight the 12 rounds against an injuried Champion,by this way Clottey get a gift fro real.

This punkass of STEWART talk **** as usual.

                  • The only leg that the Cotto fans have to stand on in my view is the first round knockdown and the fact that Cotto pulled out the 12th round. Other than that, I could've easily found 8 other rounds to give to Clottey. A couple of the rounds I gave to Clottey were close, but there is no way Cotto won that fight by more than one point. If the scorecards were more reasonable I wouldn't be giving Cotto fans all this **** I'm giving them. I think I've been pretty fair in the lead up to this fight. I picked Cotto to win because of Clottey's past history of getting discouraged when things get tough. That right there tells you I never thought Cotto was a total slug. There can be fights of where the winner can barely deserve the decision and the fight still be a robbery. But I thought Cotto neither deserved the decision and the fight was a robbery. He got outlanded and he was in retreat mode. The 11th round was close even though I gave it to Clottey, but the 9th and 10th rounds he won going away. The only case you can make for Cotto winning the tenth was that good left hook that he landed at the end of the round. The rest of it was all Clottey. And how the hell did Letterman score the 3rd and 4th rounds to Cotto. That's ridiculous.

                    • And Clottey went into this fight with the totally wrong attitude even though I thought he should've won. He was saying in the lead up that he didn't think he was gonna get robbed if it went the distance, and that he would give a good account of himself, even in defeat. And he did let the fight slip away by not cutting the ring off and following Cotto around. He didn't capitalize on the previous rounds he won before the 12th. And the comparison with Clottey to Margarito is where the HBO commentators dropped the ball. Steward was correct in pointing that out. Judges don't take kindly to defensive minded fighters like Winky Wright and Joshua Clottey who use that peek-a-boo style. Another thing that hurt Clottey was not being busy enough, but the higher percentage and blocked punches should have been credited to him. I don't even really view Clottey on the level of Williams, Mosley, JMM, and Pacquiao. All of those fighters would beat him in my view. That's why I think Cotto is overrated by getting a gift decision over a guy who is a sturdy fighter, but not A-level.
