It was not a gift decision, although the judge that scored it 116-111 was too generous to Cotto. Clottey had a great opportunity to win but let it slip away by not doing enough in the late rounds.

I admit it wasn't his best performance but that cut had alot to do with it.

Most biased piece of drivel I've ever read from one of the BS writers.
Very entertaining, close, fight. The difference was the knockdown and Clottey being ineffective the last 3 rounds.

I saw Cotto win 1-3-5-6-11-12 for a 114-113 score. Round 10 Cotto landed two left hooks at the end that might have persuaded 2 of the judges for the 115-112/116-111 scores. Clottey DID NOT win 11 or 12. I have to add however that Cotto didn't look super sharp or dominant as he has at times, credit goes to Clottey for that. The guy is not a bum people, he's a champ caliber boxer that took Margarito the distance with broken hand and possesses very good skills/stamina. Cotto definitely deserves credit for digging deep and pulling off a win with a nasty cut against a tough opponent. He could have quit early and gone for the score cards but didn't! That's balls in my eyes
I hate to say but only weakness I see with Cotto is stamina. He seems to get tired in the later rounds and that's a big no-no. Strong guys like mosley (as vs margarito), paul williams, etc. would be hell for him, for sure. Cotto still my man!
Pacquiao, I know u want some!Last edited by mist8rioso; 06-14-2009, 01:59 PM.

[QUOTE=Madlib;5486715]Well obviously Puerto Rican's are defending Miguel Cotto. But......
That's where the rest of the world comes in, those unbias, who are of neither nationality, who have better judgement when it comes to sport and competition, and don't have their mentality clouded with pride.
Cotto won, but admit it, he absolutely does not look as good (nh) as he used to be.[QUOTE]
I agree with most of your post especially the part about clouded and biased judgement.......but take into consideration Clottey is a beast, has an amazing defense and granite chin, and Cotto fought with one eye the whole fight.
Cotto has always looked vulnerable in there against good opponants.
ILL GIVE HIM THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT ON THIS ONE.Last edited by Xcusemymood; 06-14-2009, 02:00 PM.
