a win is a win, no matter what.
mind you it wasn't a gift or a robbery.
    immediate rematch is not forthcoming.
arum is now working for manny-miguel fyt.
i think manny at ringside likes what he saw and will challenge cotto for the ww belt.

manny-may is the greatest fyt out there.
manny-miguel is the most doable fyt there is today.
miguel is much bigger, manny is much faster.
cotto made 146 at weigh in, a catchweight of 144 is not that hard.

floyd meantime will have only 2 "good" options after jmm, fyt mosley or re-retire! what da ya think??

Agreed. All this "robbery" **** is just annoying. The fight was close. Anyone who isn't bias can see this. Cotto deserved the win, but only just.

Cotto won clean, he fought with a cut eye, the key reason for why he won was cuz of the 1st round knockdown.

I'm well suprised how much controversy there is around this fight, thought it was a clear Cotto victory as Clottey didn't do **** in the last 3 rounds. I scored it even after Round 10 and thought that Clottey was gonna really show he wasn't a 12 round fighter but then he stopped doing anything.

              115 - 112 Cotto

              Anyways, what a fight!

                  Cotto gets well deserve gift.

Compubox does not show the amount of punches thrown (activity) and that has an impression on judges.

Fans of Clottey should give him credit for almost winning, but almost does not get you a "W". Ask Clottey why he stopped punching in the last two rounds, or why he thought it necessary for referee to take a point off?

Let's do something else, in the rematch, let's cut Clottey's eye on the third and let Cotto work on it for the remainder of the bout.

Cotto outboxed Clottey and won a Split decision that so far has not be contested by any other source. Check all other sources and sites and show me someone that had clottey ahead or thing he was robbed - reputable ones please.

Cottley gave a great fight and it was his to lose... yes all he needed was to throw punches in the last 3 rounds... but why he didn't.

It was in no way a robbery. It was a close fight that could have gone either way. Define a robbery- a fight that was CLEARLY won by the fighter on the losing end of a decision. Clottey did not CLEARLY win. He was also the challenger. Usually, close rounds go to the champ and Clottey did not do enough to win some of those rounds. I had the fight 114-113 Cotto.

Also, compubox numbers are transparent. Rounds are scored individually, while compubox is a cumulative statistic. Clottey was obviously effective at blocking punches, but his offensive efforts were not always enough to clearly win the rounds.

I totally agree with Harold Lederman's pointcard. COTTO WON BY 1 POINT. To say that Cotto got a gift decision is ******.

                      1. Cotto knocked Clottey down in round 1.
                      2. Cotto fought throught the fight with a big gash on his eye. And Clottey had a great opportunity to finish off Cotto because Cotto could not see the right hands coming because of the cut. So, Clottey by not taking advatage of this cut has no right to say that he won the fight.
                      3. Cotto also had Clottey in a corner for so long.

Cotto landed the harder shots with blood on his eye.

                      Cotto WON. Period.
