So if he wins you owe him a huge amount of credit. Oh and Barrera was ranked No1 by the WBO, and I believe pretty high by the WBA. Got a problem with that, send an e-mail to the sanctioning bodies.

He took another risk against Barrera, and it did pay off. Khan puts the work in like everybody else.

In his last 4 fights he would have fought Prescott, Barrera, and Kotelnik. All high standard opponents. So people can't accuse him of not taking chances. He is the most exciting fighter on the world stage. He fights with pure energy and speed. Boxing needs more people like Khan to be honest. But most people on this board are happy watching boring and defensive, Eastern Europeans stagnate the sport, which is a shame.
None of that really addresses anything I said though does it? I just prefer Kotelnik as a character and a story is all.

And I, for one, enjoy watching clever boxers do their thing.

Also on the Khan excitement factor thing I made a post in relation to that earlier I'd be interested to hear a fan's thoughts on:

in his haste to cover his chin after throwing and maintain lateral movement he's putting less force into his punches and is content to just pitty-patter on his opponent's gloves, not to mention he'll be fighting one weight division up hence forth which I would assume will only make his offense even less effective.

This is kind of a double edged sword, because on the down side he won't be overwhelming his opponents anymore and they might be able to walk through his punches to get to him. And they might more often get the full 12 rounds to try and tap that chin

Basically I think his days of being an exciting knock out artist are over but I don't know whether it's necessarily for the better, seeing as his offense was always his strongest point

you are all jealous. show me one 22 year old with a good resume like Amir's.

Olympic Silver Medal (at the age of 17), Prescott, Barrera, Kotelnik on his pro resume already and he is only 22.

well Proscott did knock him out in one round so i dunno if he recieves too much of a resume boost from that lol

and the Kotelnik fight hasn't happened yet. that's a cool win though, if he manages it

Kotelnik would need to up his work rate, still I hope we have a slow roast.Kotelnik beating Khan over a bit of a stretch and finally knocking him out.

If Khan is outclassed, will he stay with Roach?

              Some good points.

Maybe Khan will lose some of that raw aggression as he become more defensive minded, but I believe that favours him. If he fights tight and picks his shots during the first half of the fight, his opponents are going to eventually tire. After the 6th round or so, Khan will be able to use his speed, and fitness to really put the pressure on. All in all I think we will be seeing Khan dominate fighters during the middle rounds and scoring plenty of TKO's. There won't be as many early finishes, but I can live with that as long as Khan doesn't get KTFO anymore.

This is without doubt a winnable fight for khan. If he boxes smart. He needs to box to his strengths - use his fast hands and feet. In and out!

Although koteknik isn't a big puncher, but if he clips khan, he'll probs finish him off. From what i've seen he throws good straight punches and has a solid chin. I'll go khan by UD - if he boxes smart!

Those rankings don't mean ****. Barrera didn't deserve that ranking, and the fight was a sham anyway. Only way Khan gets credit from me is if he gets revenge on Prescott. Khan acts as though the fight never happened, talking about fighting Pac, Mayweather, etc. He got KO'ed by some journeyman that he wants no part of. I've never heard of Kotelnik, but after looking him up found out he has no power. Khan's career sounds like it will be full of cherrypicked opponents from now on.

Khan has already said he will fight Prescott later on in his career. The fight makes no sense at the moment. Khan isn't ready for a puncher like that again.

And you have never heard of Kotelnik? No problems with that, but it means you can't provide an informed opinion on the subject.
