Is three fights in a year really impossible for a 26 year old?

Also, Calzaghe fought the best young opponent in his division, Mikkel Kessler, who was both WBC and WBA champion.

Will Dawson ever face another prime opponent? He did fight Adamek to win his first title, but Tomasz was weight-drained (much like Eubank was weight-drained when Calzaghe fought him).
Dawson fought Adamek, the best opponent in the division.

Interesting read about why Adamek lost...

Really though, I'm very unfair to Calzaghe because he is white. I don't like white people.
Dawson is a young fighter who fights old fighters, and drops his world title to avoid young fighters.

Joe was an old fighter who fought other old fighters in his last two fights.

But before that he fought the best young fighters in his division at the time, namely Kessler and Lacy, and Reid in 1999.

Uh, no. That would've been Bernard Hopkins.

Why do you defend Dawson, and you were so hard on Calzaghe, BennyLeonard?

They really worship American fighters over there at East Side Boxing, don't they? I rarely post there, the site sucks.

Adamek was weight-drained for the Dawson fight, and has never fought at 175 since.

I didn't know Hopkins wanted the fight.

Adamek = best prime fighter who was willing to take the fight.

              2. Diaconu was injured in Sep 2007 so Dawson fought Epifano Mendoza instead.

              3. Diaconu was healed and ready to fight by December, 2007. Dawson avoided Diaconu again in early 2008 and another voluntary defense, this time against Johnson, was approved by the WBC.

              4. Dawson ducked Diaconu again in the early summer of 2008, and vacated his title to fight the age 40 Tarver.

              5. Dawson ducked Tavoris Cloud in early 2009 and decided to go for the rematch with Tarver. His contract with Tarver stated that he could have a fight in between, before the rematch, but he chose to avoid Tavoris.

              6. Dawson ducked Cloud again in May 2009, and vacates his title to rematch Johnson, who is now age 40.
All true apart from point 6.

The reason Dawson isn't fighting Cloud now is because none of the major t.v networks are willing to take a chance on it. There is no ducking from anybody this time around.

                I'm defending Dawson now?

                Did you read my post?

I said he has Adamek and that is it. I also called his Tarver fight a joke. DO YOU READ EVERYTHING OR DO YOU JUST PICK AND CHOOSE?

But for Johnson....people wanted to see that rematch because the first fight was close. That fight should have happened instead of the Tarver fight.

That interview was with Andrew Golota's thoughts first-hand...but I guess he is American bred now....or did you not read the article?

                  Tarver had a rematch clause.

You can't blame that on Dawson.

Or maybe it was because he lost to Dawson so he moved up...possible.

I actually never heard the weight-drain story. Do you have an sources with Adamek discussing it. I would be very interested in that read for my history notes. And if true, it would be good info to have just in case Dawson moves up to CW and fights Adamek again.
I did hear before Adamek said it was "speed" that troubled him with Dawson most of all. I think that was in the post-fight press conference. I'll have to check to see if it was in there. I need a link for it though. Wonder if this site still has the video....

Anyway, if true that Adamek was "weight-drained" as you say, why continue to fight at LH?
Was he trying to take advantage of smaller fighters???

                      Eh...that sucks.

I could have done without that fight but if it was in the contract for a rematch...what can you do
