point: dawson's stamina is not great.
I'm not a fan of Joe's amateurish punching technique, but I think the guy has more power than he's given credit for. I remember in his fight with Kessler that he landed what looked like to be a really hard body shot and followed it up with a barrage of hard punches that made Kessler retreat in the corner and then Robert Ortega broke the action up to warn Calzaghe for rabbit punching. It makes me wonder if Joe could have knocked Kessler down or even out if that hadn't have happened.

Joe was a hard body puncher. He couldn't put his weight behind his punches when punching to the head during his late career, because of his extremely fragile hands; but he didn't hold back when punching to the body. Having said that, even his head punches are underrated - look at Lacy's and Jones' faces at the end of their fights with him.

I think the fact that he had such serious problems with hand injuries through most of his career and yet managed to find a style to enable him to fight at the top level despite that, is something he should be given more credit for. Few fighters with such bad hands could have had a Hall of Fame career - or any career. You might not like his slappy style, but that was his enforced adaptation to his hand injuries, and as such, I think it's something he should be given more credit for.

        Good post, I agree.

Johnson was beaten by the CRAP clinton woods prior to his fight with Dawson. He went on to then give Dawson the hardest fight of his life. Dawson is ****.

No, Johnson is inconsistent. Plus most people thought he deserved the decision vs. Woods. Plus styles make fights.

As much crap as I give Dawson for not deserving the victory over Johnson and not being as good as a biased portion of his fans claim he is, your comment was so idiotic it's not even funny. The truth is Clinton Woods should be 0-3 against Glen Johnson even though he is 1-1-1. Glen was robbed in the draw and he was robbed in the rubber match. I didn't see the third fight, but I read an article in Ring Magazine and they scored the fight wide for Johnson. That combined with the fact that the fight was held in the UK, tells me everything I need to know.
