That's fact right there. Too bad the K fans can't get their small-minded heads around it.

Besides, it's not as if people constantly rag on Pacquiao for his 2 early stoppage losses to bums like Torrecampo and Sangsurat. Even the haters don't bring it up all that often. Yet Haye-ters always make it their mission to bring up the lone Thompson loss, which subsequently brings about the necessary response regarding Wlad's 3 stoppage losses. Endless cycle much?

i think the thompson loss is significant because not only was its hayes only loss, but hes challenging the world HW champion in his first big fight at HW, and ofc thompson + a few other cruiserweights either hurt or dropped haye, as did barrett in a HW fight.

everyone already knows wlads weaknesses as hes been hurt, dropped and/stopped quite alot

Mate, it might be news to you but I'm not the one going into face Wladimir Klitscko in three weeks with a chin that shatters from a glancing blow from a forty-year-old cruiserweight.

All of those points serve to emphasise how 50-50 this fight should really be, in terms of a winner. This is boxing, after all. Nobody can know for certain who will come out of Germany with the belts.

"Maaaaaayte", you're still on about that? You're convinced that just because he gassed out, his chin is weak? "Maaaaaaaaayte", you're delusional. :laff2:

I agree with Thompson.I also know that many posters on this sight including myself have been saying that haye hasn't done that much to deserve a title shot.the only reason anyone gives haye a chance in this fight is because of the sanders loss.to me this is the only fight I really believe wlad was seriously hurt.that fight was when he had that old clown German trainer.wlad is totally rebuilt under Emmanuel steward.I don't see haye lasting long but wlad has been on the canvas several times so there is a flicker of hope for haye fans.fans just don't think you can go from fighting a weak cruiserseight division then expect to win a heavyweight title from a guy that hits as hard as wlad.I'm sure everyone saw enzo maccaranelli get knocked out recently.he got beat by some guy with 5 ko in 25 fights.Hayes win over enzo got downgraded to meaning ****all.enzo would get ko'd by zuri Lawrence.I really am not going to be surprised if the fight goes 3 rounds at most.I'm 90% sure wlad wins in 3 but 10% of me sees another sanders like result.I agree with tunney that this is one of the most important fights of 2009.we need to see if dimitrenko, haye, arreola, boytsov, chambers are for real.is it me or has the division been in transition for like 10 years.there are at least 7 or 8 heavyweights over 38 that are still in the mix.the last fleet(mesi, guinn,Harrison, grant,Barrett) never really made a substantial impact other than Barrett.mesi was ok & so was guinn.the klits are the best now but only because Holyfield,Tyson, bowe, lewis are no longer making an impact.too bad vitali missed 4 years.he could have fought all those guys from the 90's but the Byrd loss killed his chance early but he chose to retire instead of cleaning up the division.it's too bad because now whatever he does now means nothing.he could have been an alltime great but the Byrd fiasco & early retirement hurt his legacy.there are really no credible names for vitali to be remembered for.his 2 biggest fights Byrd & lewis.those fights are what everyone will always relate him to.

Agreed. It was everything but an easy fight for Thompson...

Anyway he did a great job, when he came back (taking to consideration his age at the time of the fight) and stopped Haye later...

Nice prediction: Wlad KO3. That would shatter a lot of Haye fans wet dreams. I think he's going to get his Maybe Haye would beat the version of Wlad that lost to Sanders, who knows, Haye is an orthodox fighter however. And he doesn't have much pedigree as you state, his best win over Enzo is now devalued. He's managed to duck all the contenders out there and went straight for the prize because he can sell tickets.

On VK, I don't see the Byrd fight as that signficant, he quit because of a dislocated shoulder, big deal, Byrd was never near his class. And he took the Lewis fight on very short notice, was winning the fight until the cut stopped him. A cut that I'm still not entirely convinced came from a legal blow. If VK had been around in the 90' s I wouldn't have backed Bowe or Holyfield against him. Bowe was battered senseless by Golota, and Holyfield just wasn't big enough.

Did you even see the fight??? This fight was the best thing that could happen to a prospect who was willing to take risk early on in is career instead of waiting around and fighting Bums up to 35-0.

Carl thompson isnt a fighter to be mess with even at 40 years old and Haye took him on with only 10 fights under his belt without been past 4 rounds before in his pro career.

He threw everything but the kitchen sink at Carl and he hurt and rock him so many times in the fight only for carl to wheather the storm with his hard rock chin and experience by this time Haye had Gassed out, He had nothing left and carl took over with a couple of well placed shot but Haye still took it but not for long because he was done(Stamina-wise).

Wlad should win and i think he would win within the first four rounds but there is a reason why Haye has only 24 fights, At 10 fights he was fighting people like Carl thompson, If he was with Frank warren or a german boxers
he would be 40-0 without fighting anyone of note.

He fought genuine competition at a time he should be fighting bums so credit where credit is due.
