The fights were similar, they were both getting battered around the ring before their opponents tired, both fights weren't easy.

the haye thompson stoppage was bull**** anyway.
i cant remember if the corner threw the towel in, but haye was waving
the guy on when the ref stopped it. i think haye could of landed something
big to put him away, even if he was gassing at that stage. unlikely but
      possible

If i was Thompson i would want Haye to win, that way i can say i beat a heavyweight champion, Haye has improved a lot since then.

Nah, I watched it and was he absolutely DONE. Had the towel not been thrown and the ref not jumped in, Haye would've been seriously hurt by Thompson. There was no way he was recovering from that beating. He lived to fight another day, so it was a very good stoppage.

One. Single. Stoppage. In only his 11th pro fight. Against a notoriously resilient, multiple-time CW champ, who had fought at the weight for more or less his entire career.

Don't believe whatever bile the Klitschko cumdrinkers say otherwise. Their man got stopped 3 times in a pathetic manner.

That's what I thought, that fight would have been stopped by a fair few refs before Haye gassed.

That said, Thompson is probably the hardest boxer I have ever seen, he made a career of getting beaten-up and coming back.

The only reason Carl Thompson beat Haye in the first place is because Haye was young and nieve. He went out throwing huge bombs thinking he could knock Thompson out easilly but then realised he couldn't and that he had used up all his energy. Thompson only knocked him out because he was fatigued. Thompson was getting battered in most rounds.

                Thompson TKO'd Haye.

Haye blew everything he had on Thompson in the first 5 rounds. Haye's corner threw in the towel after a flurry of punches from the old veteran..

                It was 5 years ago..

Definetely, it was case of the better fighter losing the fight really.

Haye had a bad gameplan. He hurt him in the 1st and that was it. He threw the kitchen sink at him.
