Carl Thompson Beat Haye, Says Klitschko Will Too

Carl Thompson, the only fighter to beat David Haye, is giving his former foe a 50-50 chance to beat WBO/IBF heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko on June 20 in Germany. Thompson was stunned early on but came back to stops Haye in their 2004 meeting at Wembley Arena. He, like many others, believes that Haye is too small to beat the much bigger champion. [details]

    Interesting comments by Carl Thompson.

I've never found it so difficult to wait for a fight to take place than for Haye-Wladimir! It's easily the most important fight of 2009 for me.

I agree Wlad will win but Thompson is talking **** saying Haye should have fought british level heavyweights.

Haye vs Danny Williams, Haye vs Audley Harrison? anyone?

          yah

He nipped it in the butt and so did Warren. Hayes mouth has gotten him into a fight he wont be able to win and im going to enjoy watching him get pulverized. He thinks because he dominated the Cruiserwieghts, that he can do it at Heavywieght, well he's gonna find out the hard way that he is not the savior of the HW division. He's a joke, a guy with his style is made to order for the champion, Klitschko needs a real fight. I think Povetkin would be more of a challange. Haye fights with his hands low and jumps in with punches, very good at Cruiserwieght, were his hieght was the advantage to were he could do that, now shes fighting a real tall fighter that will have those same advantages over her that she had over the Cruiserwieghts.

Yeah, when u knocked somebody out in the fifth round, thats pretty easy, especially when u dont go to the canvas in the process.

I wouldn't call getting hurt multiple times, hit by big bombs from a big puncher easy and just because it's a 5th round stoppage doesn't make it an easy fight, it's like Wlad-Brewster.

IMO Haye could have done with a fight or two more at HW, British Market even, but that wouldn't have suited the game, and the fight had to be now. Haye wanted it that way. Respect to him for jumping from a limited fighter in Monte to a sophisticated, polished, technical master. But its a bold move.

I expect Wlad to win this, but I hope both men step up and give a giant account of themselves or the sake of this HW division.

You can't compare those two fights, Brewster was catching clean punches with his head all night, like Rocky, Thompson took some good shots but caught the majority of them with his gloves

The title says Thompson predicts Klitschko will beat Haye, but then in the article he gives David a 50/50 chance.
