People are always making a big deal about the age of his opposition but he was nearing forty himself and some how unless he stomped every up and coming 20 yr old he is a bum....what a joke.

I want you guys to hold the same standard of thinking and assessment when your "favorite boxer" is nearing forty himself. Calzaghe haters
So...what did Jeff Lacy winning controversial decisions over Tsypko and Griffin tell you that you didn't know before?

Well by that standard he should not have beaten Pavlik either , huh?

You should really think about your arguments first

Yeah, that he won tough fights against Tyspko, who at one time was both the WBA and IBF champ and Lacy had to have reconstructive surgery on his shoulder after the Tyspko fight anyways.

Griffen was an IBF title holder at one time as well, nothing to brag severely about but a champ on paper none the less.

I wanna thank you for providing background - very favorable background I might add - but I asked you about Lacy. Did you learn something new? Did he all of a sudden seem better? Was there some revelation? I fail to see what his post-Calzaghe record proves--though the general consensus is that it proves he wasn't so hot, probably never was.

Maybe not as credible as the American audience played him out to be but not a complete loser and his post Calzaghe fights told me nothing about him...I knew he was not as good as Calzaghe b4 they fought.

Seems to me he's just saying that although he was over-hyped in the US before the Calzaghe fight, he's not a bum, whereas some Calzaghe haters portray him as one.

Getting the boxing equivalent of a bareback **** raping in the biggest fight of your career after being touted to destroy the rapist would set a lot of people back a bit, dont ya think?

In his first fight back after the Calzaghe massacre he severely injured his left shoulder. He tore a tendon away 97% from the bone aswell as tearing his rotator cuff in the 2nd round against Tsypko. That's the main reason why he struggled and has looked **** since. He'd to have surgery and 6 months rehabilitation and was out for a year. When he came back he looked terrible against Manfredo, even worse against Mendoza were he got rocked a few times and arguably lost. And most recently he struggled and won a dubious decision over Otis Griffin ffs. He hasn't knocked anyone out since the Calzaghe loss and the severe injury so that pretty much shows he's completely shot because his competition has hardly been stellar. He was well over-hyped by yanks (the next Tyson ) but he wasn't nearly as bad as he's potrayed now.
