So moving down wasn't an option...ok.
I see...so he shouldn't have moved up because he wouldn't have gotten the fight against the man who ducked legit threats yet somehow managed to attain a better resume than him. Got it.
That's true. Only took ten years...by the way, in between facing Kessler and Eubank, did Calzaghe face some "legit threats?" (Hint: Lacy?)
I'm confused. Did Showtime make an offer? Or did Calzaghe make an offer? And how do you decipher when Calzaghe's just talking ****?
How do you know he wasn't as confident?ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..... I have to think.......I'll get back to you on this. Dont hold your breath though. That's true. Only took ten years...by the way, in between facing Kessler and Eubank, did Calzaghe face some "legit threats?"Comment

Not when he can't make the limit. Considering Hopkins is a natural SMW who boiled down to MW it isn't really a huge ask for him to fight at 168.
Jones got worldwide recognition for going to the olympics and getting robbed. Calzaghe got robbed of going to the olympics and wasnt even a household name in UK for years. Naz had the spotlight at the time and then Hatton. The irony is Jones shouldn't have went to the olympics and Calzaghe should have. McClellan really beat Jones. If you break Jones' resume down it's ****. His best wins are a severely weight-drained Toney and green Hopkins.I see...so he shouldn't have moved up because he wouldn't have gotten the fight against the man who ducked legit threats yet somehow managed to attain a better resume than him. Got it.
Yeah Lacy was obviously a legit threat at the time even though he was proven to be overrated. 95% of boxers, pundits, fans thought Lacy was going to destroy Lacy. Now we have all the hindsight experts who knew all along Lacy was overrated. lolThat's true. Only took ten years...by the way, in between facing Kessler and Eubank, did Calzaghe face some "legit threats?" (Hint: Lacy?)
You can't blame Calzaghe for Jones, Hopkins and even Ottke, not wanting to fight him.
Calzaghe called for the fight and Showtime made the offer.I'm confused. Did Showtime make an offer? Or did Calzaghe make an offer? And how do you decipher when Calzaghe's just talking ****?Comment

And before bsrizpac returns with some epic chide,
the best version of Hopkins ever to take a ring beats the best version of Calzaghe ever to take a ring (although I see it being a rugged, gruelling encounter and not a total cakewalk, even if Hopkins were to dominate in terms of rounds won, being that Joe has always shown to be a hearty guy when in a hole and himself a good artisan of his craft). IMO.
So there is no agenda on my part. Seeing as I'm a fan of both fighters. And seeing as I've never displayed any bias to Joe in my posts here. The initials "UK" in my location bar do not automatically denote bias.
JC's career is what it is. I don't see why people are unable to just accept it, or feel the need to apportion blame for its shortcomings, on both sides.
It's a solid HOF career with some creditable accomplishments. It's not an ATG career. But, so what? The HOF was a dream if you were a supporter of Joe Calzaghe 10 years ago. ****, it was still a dream 5 years ago.
That's what sickens me about all this bull****. If there's anything I really hate about Joe, it's the fairweather scums he attracted to this forum who provide the creepy fanboy element necessary to the tedious, never-ending 50 page flamewars that pollute any thread about the guy on here.
Fucking weirdos. All of you.Comment
