yea, u retired b/c there were no more 40 year old shot superstars left to enhance your legacy.

The thing that bothers me the most about calzaghe is that he had soooo much more talent the ricky hatton but it was ricky who challenged himself & fought the best the world had to offer at the right justified time.

I could understand if it was ricky who took the easy way out b/c he's not really that talented & physically imposing. Calzaghe had the talent, the size, the ability, everything that ricky didnt have.

But what calzaghe didnt have that ricky hatton had was ambition, balls & the determination to come to america & fight the best the world had to offer.

This is easy to say when; A) You haven't been knocked out
      B) You haven't fought any top P4P fighters in their prime.

He would probably have lost to both but it's very unlikely he'd have been knocked out by either. He had the style to trouble both of them, even in their primes, and he did try to make fights with them around 2001-2002, especially with Hopkins, so all the hate against him for not fighting them then is extremely misplaced. As someone else said, it wasn't that Hatton was braver, it was just that Hatton was luckier in terms of being able to land mega-fights.

I would bet all my points that he'd lose to Witter if he fought him now. Might have been different a few years ago ...

                      Newsflash!

Joe didn't fight, let alone beat a P4P elite fighter. Hatton did and got KFTO twice.

Fair play to him. I respect him more then i respect Calzaghe.

Calzaghe put his '0' ahead of his legacy. People wonder why qustions are still asked?

                      He did this! Not us.
