it's not an excuse. i'm not defending the loss. i'm talking about classless *******s talking tough behind keyboards because its the easiest thing to do on earth. what percentage of this forum owns a pair of boxing gloves? probably less than 2%. how many have been in any kind of real fight? probably less than 10%. a bunch of nerds calling dudes who could rip there spinal cords out of there nostrils "quitters" is ridiculous to me.
Wait, so you're the guy who judges how many posters have gotten into fights and how many posters own boxing gloves and also how many of the posters here are nerds? And why can't they make a simple judgment?
Cotto was getting his ass beat and did the right thing in order to be able to improve. Instead of getting knocked out cold, the dude said that enough is enough and quit.
If he did use it then of course it has a part in it.. but Cotto had his chances to KO Margs he didn't, then in the fight you could see his confidence just go down.. he kept back peddling, hitting TM with clean ass shots and still nothing..
It was a great fight and cotto had a great perfotmance, but it was TM's night..
what you describe is true, but to me it's obvious that the fight followed that course because Cotto had the life slowly ****** out of him by Margo's loaded wraps. Without the plaster, it's a Cotto tko late IMO

The problem with your scenario is Margarito took every Cotto punch with a smile and basically asked for more.
All he did was keep walking him down because Cotto couldn't hurt him that night.

I think without the loaded wraps you would have seen the direct opposite effect. I agree Margo was taking Cotto's best early and he kept coming but eventually he would have been beaten into submission probably late in the fight. Cotto was dealing early and if his strength, energy, & will wasn't sapped he would have worn Margo down.

I never have seen Margarito fade late but I've seen Cotto fade late.
Cotto got buzzed by Torres, Corley, and Mosley.
Is it so implausible that Margarito buzzed him too?
I like Cotto, but come on now.
He's not a quitter. He just fought a dumb fight in there. He's performed much better against Mosley and other guys than he did that night.

I'm not saying it's implausible, but it didn't look like Tony "buzzed" him it looked to me like he slowly broke him down which is the direct opposite of the way the fight should have turned out. The person who was administering the precise and methodical beating was the one who broke down late? Doesn't make sense. You gotta conced that much.

Margarito has always worn guys down. That's his mo. Keep punching keep walking them down.
Cotto got hit a lot in the body early, and by round six was covering it.
Cotto normally does fine and was boxing him early, but his game plan really went out the window quite early when he was slugging with him.
